Why Her

Chapter 5

Author note: I hope you like the story so far. Please leave a comment or two so I know if I should continue. I hope to finish this story at one point I don't know how soon that will be though. Enjoy chapter 5.

Silvia's POV

I can't believe I'm doing this, running away with a guy I should never be with. Darren's been driving for awhile now, we have passed through 3 cities and now are heading for a dense forest. "Are you sure you're okay?" I asked him, he seemed so tired for the last 3 hours. "Yep totally fine" he says and then yawns. "Your not fooling me Darren, you have been up for like 14 hours. Please pull over and sleep or let me drive." "Fine, I'll pull over just for you so you stop worrying" he replied. He was true to his work and did pull over and was going to take a nap. He tried go get comfy but ended up laying back a bit, he asked "I don't want to sleep while your wake, can I hold your hand while you lay next to me?" "Sure" and I did recline my seat while giving him my hand. I had gotten some sleep while he was driving so I took this opportunity to watch him sleep. He's perfect of course it would be better if he was a vampire but he's still mine. This was a nice moment. After a good 8 hours I woke him up, he was a bit drowsy at first but then said, "why did you let me sleep so late, aren't you hungry?" I laughed; I was a little hungry, but I wanted him safe. He got all fixed up and started to drive again. He stopped and got us some food. Eventually we enter the forest. It reminds me of home. I love the forest air and smell. He's following a map but looks a little confused, "what's wrong?" I ask. "Nothing just some of the trees look a little too dense and I think I'm seeing shacks" he says. This confuses me, it's pitch black and I can't see a thing. "maybe your just tired and seeing things" I suggest, he agrees but shortly afterwards finds a nice spot. "Ok one more night here in the car and I'll get working on our future home" he tells me. I smile but ask "where are we?" He tells me and shows me on the map that there is a small piece of forest here outside of the grand council's land. It's supposed to be safe and ok for us. We lay back and sleep again.

Darren's pov

I wake up and get out of the car. I stretch and see Silvia still sleeping. I'm glad she agreed to be with me as mates. I look around and I must have been mistaken, not a shack or abandoned cabin in sight. It's ok I did bring things to build us a cabin. I open the trunk and see all the tools I brought with me. I loosen up and switch into my wolf form Rollin, I ask him are you ready for this? Absolutely he replied. I run around scratching x's on trees I'm cutting down. I start digging a small rut, making a small outline for the house. Once I'm happy with the idea I change back. I grab the axe and start cutting. I keep checking on Silvia and she's in such a deep sleep. After 7 hours I got all the trees down. I wipe sweat off my head. "Wow you work hard" Silvia said, and I jump. "You scared me, when did you wake?" I asked. "An hour ago, I caught us a meal" she says showing a few rabbits. I take a break cooking them. As we eat, she talks and says she wants to help. I decide to let her, it could be a good bonding experience.

After lunch we work hard together. We cut the trees into logs and planks, some long some short. I had her smoothing the wood as I cut them. I had changed and dug holes and she placed the planks; I buried the bases. We had a nice base frame. I nailed the other planks into the base ones making a floor/ceiling. I connected more wall frames, after that I made the roof shape. I had sent Silvia to gather firewood as I cut a few more trees. I cut them in half and made wood slabs. I attach them in a layered way, making our outside look just like a cabin. Before I did the inside with Silvia, I had her gather moss and we stuffed it in between the planks so it could be insulation. We finished it together by her insulating while I put the slabs on walls. She made notes on the lay out for inner walls and where stairs and doors should be, I smiled loving seeing her so happy and invested. I cut down more trees and put together her dream walls, stairs, and doors. The doors took the longest, but we got it done. Unfortunately, it's really late now and getting to be very dark. Hunting was hard but we got a meal that we cooked and are happy right now.

"So, do we sleep in the furniture less house or in the car?" Silvia asked. I sigh "sorry Silvia car again but I will get us furniture. I'll either make it or drive to the nearest town and buy some." Her blush is so cute, and I love her laugh/giggle. "It's ok if you trust me, I can go to the town and buy some sheets and towels, dishes and other things while you build the furniture" she replied. We had a nice evening and went to sleep in the car. In the morning I gave her the keys and a list. I kissed her and she left. I missed her, I got to work making some furniture. I made a wooden table and chairs in the cabin. I made some cabinets. I made a spot for a sink. I made a bench as a couch and some chairs. Upstairs I took wooden bedframe pieces. I but small beds together and a big bedframe in our room. I start working on a nice wooden crib wanting to surprise Silvia.

Silvia's pov

I have lots of money on a card. It's a family card but I'm sure Mackenzie and Jack won't mind. When I got to the store, I took a cart and started to grab many things. I get a nice double basin made of porcelain sink. I get a set of baking stuff, oven mitts, dish set, and a few mattress'. I get sheets, dish towels, bath towels, and pillows. I have a huge pile; I pay for it all and stuff it in the car. It was weird though. I had people giving me looks. When I got to our new home, I started to bring things into the cabin when I saw all the new furniture all I could say was "oh wow." I started to fill the cabinets that are beautiful. I put pillows on the couch and chairs. I put towels in the new areas. The bathroom is simple, little, cute. It's has a shower area and a wooden toilet seat. A small bucket as a sink bin. I set the pipes all on the table for him. I went upstairs with the mattress' and sheets. I run into Darren, "hey there your pipes and sink is downstairs" I say. "Oh, ok just give me a moment" he replied. Ok he looks like he's hiding something. I start making all the beds. It's cute that he has kids' rooms already to go. He did something then rushed downstairs to probably hook up the sink in the kitchen. I watched out one of the window holes as we ran sniffing the ground as his wolf. I like his white coat with little gray speckles. He has gray legs too. Awhile later he comes in with scraps and I'm confused. "I've found water and got the pipe system flowing water, I'm gonna finish it now with the kitchen sink and the bathroom. I found an old rusted car, so I took parts to build an oven/stove" he tells me. A good 5 hours later and it's all done. We sit together on the new couch and I tell him "I love this place, I love you" I give him a kiss on the cheek. "I'm glad and it's all ours" he says pulling me close for a cuddle. But then there's a sudden knock on our door. I'm a little scared and Darren is on alert.
