Hello Summer

    It was my first time going on vacation over summer break. My mom never let us go on many vacations, because we didn't have enough money, since it was just the two of us. Before we get into anything else, my name is Autumn Wiley, and I'm 17. I was an only child and my dad died before I was old enough to know him. So I've had a rough life. What's my favorite thing about my life? I play hockey. It's pretty intense, especially when jerks like to judge girls for playing. I used to hate sports but then I started looking into hockey and some of my friend liked it too. My friends and I decided to join a team. Anyways, I live in literally the smallest town you will ever see, in Nebraska. The rink I play at is actually in our town. Which may seem like the town is actually big, but nope, hockey is just a big thing in our town.

       As I was packing up, I got a call from my best friend, Hazel. We've known each other since we were babies. It's just one of those people you can trust with all your heart. She plays hockey too. I have other friends but she is my best best friend. I really didn't want to leave her but I had to. I asked if she could come along but my mom said that it would be too expensive and hard on her. I understand though, my mom is a really caring person but she just sometimes can't handle the pressure of having to take care of people all the time. Which is why I tried to parents myself the most I could as a child.

       We were leaving for our trip as Hazel runs to me and jumps on my back. This action of hers not hurting me at all, since she's tiny and I'm a pretty tough hockey player if I do say so myself. She may be tiny, but she is tough, like really tough.

"Hey girl what's up" I said to Hazel

"Well, I talked to my mom and my mom talked to yours, and I can come with you on your trip. I mean unless.."

I stopped her from talking by hugging her and screaming yes at the top of my lungs.

"I'm guessing she told you" said my mom carrying our bags out of the house

"You girls ready?" my mom asked as she packed up the car

"Yeah let me just go grab my stuff" said Hazel

"Okay awesome and bring your gear there's an ice rink" I said laughing at her goofy run

I was overjoyed. I was going on vacation around the world with my best friend and my momma. Seriously this is going to be the best vacation ever.
