You walk into the almost empty café with Shawn by your side, holding onto your hand. His thumb gently rubs the back of your hand as he leads you to a booth in the back. He lets go of your hand only long enough to slide into the booth before grabbing your hand again and continuing the soft rubbing.

Shawn is sitting across from you with his hand stretched across the table to touch you. If you try to move your hand his grip tightens, almost as if he's afraid you'll leave. It's quiet and the only sounds are the occasional clinks of coffee cups against the table, the distant whisper, the rhythmic tapping of Shawn's foot, and of course the raindrops on the window.

You look out the window, watching the few people walk by outside. It's late and you're both tired, but not quite ready for sleep. Shawn thought getting out for a little bit might help.

"You better not get coffee." You look at Shawn with a raised eyebrow.

"Why not?"

"Because, Shawn, we're trying to get to sleep. It's late. I'm tired and I know you're tired."

He yawns, shaking his head after. "I'm not that tired." He says, almost like he's just trying to prove you wrong.

"Shawn, you just yawned. You are too tired."

He grins. "Okay, maybe a little."

"Exactly."

A young woman walks over to the booth and puts on a smile despite how worn out she seems. She scribbles down your order before walking away. After a few minutes the noise was brought down to only the rain. Everyone else had left. It was just you and Shawn. Not that you minded.

You were looking out the window again, watching as the rain hit it. You absolutely loved the rain. On most days, if it rained you and Shawn would go out and splash in the puddles like children. You can see Shawn looking at you out of the corner of your eye and you look at him, your gaze soft.

"Yes?" You ask quietly.

He shakes his head, a smile present, "You're just so stunning, (y/n)."

You smile as you rest your chin in your palm. You felt like the luckiest person in the whole world to have him. Your thoughts were interrupted by the noise of your drinks being set on the table. You and Shawn exchange sleepy, yet happy, whispers as the night continues to go on. You have no idea how long you're there, but you're just happy you're with each other.
