Silence. That's all that filled the room. The grey haired reaper, known as the Undertaker waited for the young girl to wake up from her sleep. He knew what he done will work. He just waited, not saying a single word. He has seen the young lady on the streets before. She was known as the Queens Fox. He took a liking to her since she visited him often just to talk. He enjoyed her company, until she stop coming. He was worried deeply, seeing that she was almost killed in the 'accident'. Most people said no one survived so they assumed she was dead. Undertaker knew she wasn't dead, just badly injured. Undertaker decided to take care of her until she was fully healthy and healed.
As he heard a small movement he walk over in front of his desk. He saw the girl rise from the coffin rubbing her head. She look around seeming not to recognize the place she was in. Candles lit the room she was in, she didn't mind how dim it was. Windows? There was no windows, only on the front door which couldn't see in or out not giving much light, only light was from the candles. She look at the Undertaker seeming confused. "Good morning dearie. I hope you slept well." He said smiling with a small giggle. She got out of the coffin and walk over to him. She didn't say a single word. She tired to speak but seemed like her tongue was twisted. "Oh dear, seems like your unable to speak after what happened. It's alright dearie, I'll do everything to help you speak." He told her making her feel better, she smiled a little at him.
"Oh and dear your name is (Y/N), also known as the Queens Fox." Undertaker told her and she gave one nod. The day went on as he tried to teach her words. Nothing was working she would only make small sounds. He sighed,"I suppose that's enough for today." He said, he went to go grab a skull after he place down about eight glass bottles in front of his desk, and she went behind his desk look around trying to get use to the place. She heard the door open as she quickly hid behind the desk.
"Undertaker, are you about?" The boy ask which sounds very young. Him and someone else walk in closing the door behind him.
"Hehehehe, hello my lord. It's so lovely to see you." After that, a skull rolled on the floor as the boy moved his leg out of the way seem a bit shock by it. It knock down all the glass bottles that was set up. In front of the door was the Undertaker.
"What shall it be then? Do I finally have the pleasure for fitting you in one of my coffins." He said, (Y/N) could see him smiling.
"Look you-" The boy said sounding annoyed only to be cut off by the Undertaker.
"Have a seat, my Lord. I still have a batch of biscuits still fresh from the oven."The Undertaker was at this desk which, was a larger coffin, and the girl was still hiding behind. The Undertaker had a plate full of biscuits," Children's bodies is it?" Undertaker ask, the butler explain about them being missing and no corpses have been found. The girl smelled the biscuits wishing she could have one. "Well as bad as it might be," He said picking up one of his bone shaped biscuits. "Dead children are part and past in life in the underworld." He finish taking a bite of the biscuit in his hand. "But I'm sure your aware of that my Lord." Then all of a sudden there was a slight growl in the room. The butler and boy look at the Undertaker, the sound came from behind his desk. Undertaker was looking down and giggled at whatever was there.
"Dearie if you were so hungry you could've just gotten one. Now, come out these are friends they won't hurt you." Undertaker said as a girl peak her head out from behind the coffin. Her (H/C) was smooth and bright, her (E/C) eyes had a spark in them even though it was so dark. She stood up but also grab a biscuit take a small bite looking at the people. However, they seemed shock seeing a young girl here. She seems about 20 and she was a little short for her age. However, they got back to what they were discussing with the Undertaker.
"I have their information here. Look through them and tell me if you've taken care of one of these children." The boy said as the butler sat down a stack of paper with kids pictures and names. She look at them tilting her head not knowing how to read either.
"Hmm? Have I seen that face before. I don't know. I bet my memory would be a bit sharper if I had myself a good laugh though. I think you know what I'm after my lord," the Undertaker said as the boy look more annoyed but the butler didn't."All you've got to do is give it to me. Just give me the gift of true laughter," he said going on his back on his coffin desk. "One joke and all my information is all yours. Hehehehehehe." His continued as he look at the boy moving his fingers up and down. The boy look at his butler annoyed,"See to it." He said and the butler, pulled his glove on more. "Certainly." He replied, "Oh? Have him do your dirty work then?" The Undertaker said rising back up, holding his hat, the boy seemed more annoyed now. "Ah, that's the trouble with nobles. Can't do anything without your butlers eh?" Undertaker turned to look at him with a smile on his face still as he continues to hold his hat that was still on his head. "Well, it's all the same to me. I'm only after for a laugh, don't matter who gives it to me." Undertaker said as the girl sat on the side of his desk as the boy sat his cane against the desk.
"I'll take care of this." He said still annoyed and she giggled a bit as the Undertaker had his back turned to them. "Are you quiet certain?" The butler ask him, the boy seemed angry now. "Sebastian wait outside." The boy turned around pointing at him, " Go! Do not attempt to listen to this! That is an order!" Sebastian bowed to him, one hand over his shoulder. "As you wish." He left the room and stood outside. The day past on as the boy tried to get the Undertaker a laugh. (Y/N) sat down on the Undertaker lap hearing all the bad jokes not giving Undertaker a single laugh. She fell asleep on the Undertaker from the joke being bad making her fall asleep. As night came the Undertaker laughed waking her up and she yawned looking at the boy who was a mess now. Sebastian peak in then walk in closing the door as the Undertaker said, "Who would have thought that Earl Phantomhive would have that up his sleeve? That kills me. Hehehe."
She rubbed her eyes and she took another biscuit eating it. The boy was panting slightly, as he pulled down both sleeves that was up. "Whatever did you do?" Sebastian ask him as he walk in front of him. "Don't ask." "Performing tricks on command like that for the Queens sake, my lord? You truly are a dog aren't you?" He said going to grab the boys coat. "Shut it. That's enough. There I payed your feed, now what do you know about the missing children." He said ask his coat was put on him. (Y/N) got off the Undertaker's lap and layed down letting her head hang off the desk looking at them. The Undertaker put his elbows on the desk with this hands together which wouldn't be able to see since his long sleeves had them covered.
"Well nothing." Undertaker simply said as Sebastian and his master gave his a completely confused look. "What?" They both said at the same time. Undertaker pick up one of the papers, "None of these poor unfortunate souls were my customers. Nor are there rumors that match their description." He said as the boy walk up to the desk and put his hands on it. "So, your saying that you don't know a thing about this and I came here nothing?" He ask Undertaker, who never stop smiling. "That's not how I would put it. You see what I know is that I don't know." The boy look more confused, he look at (Y/N) who was looking at him.
"A good point, if he hasn't heard about it, it certainly suggest that no one in the underworld killed them wouldn't you agree?" Sebastian said thinking about it, the boy look a bit shock. "Yes and if their bodies haven't been found in either of the circle then that suggest that their still living." He said," In which case I suppose our only option is personally investigating that traveling circus." The Undertaker kept the paper smiling and moving it up and down slightly. "Does she know any information?" Sebastian ask about the girl who look at him confused. "Well butler and my Lord, she doesn't know anything, she doesn't remember anything either. She can't speak, she can't read. She wouldn't know." Undertaker said as she waved and continue to eat the biscuits.
"We'll go there straight away. Come Sebastian." The boy said grabbing his cane and started to walk out. "Undertaker, contact me if you learn anything further. Or if that girl remembers anything." He said he butler following him and opening up the door. "Don't forget my lord," Undertaker said making the boy stop and look back at him. "Each of us is only given one soul. Take good care of yours." The boy simply replied," I hardly require such advise." With that he felt with the butler closing the doors behind them. "Are you sure about that?" Undertaker said giggling and waving goodbye at them. He look at (Y/N),"Now dearie, shall we get some dinner for you, since you ate all my biscuits~?" She look at the empty plate and blush as he giggled taking the plate in the kitchen leaving her alone.
Months past, Undertaker taught the young girl how to speak small things. She knew his name, how to say hello and food and small stuff like that. She learned how to read a bit more with some help of course. "Dearie please come here." Undertaker ask her as she walk over to the Undertaker. "I'm afraid you'll be staying at my friends while I have business to take care of. But I'll be back for you I promise." She seemed upset and had a few tears going down her cheeks. Undertaker wipe them away, he to didn't like leaving her. He has grown close to her, so had she. He just hopes not to run into her that would make her think differently of him.
