Galaxies Part II
-Harry-
The universe is so huge.
Endless.
Infinite.
I always thought the coolest thing about the sky was that it was so large, it covered the Earth.
So many people look at the same sky every day, just in different colors. And now, as I'm looking out of this plane window, I can see no end to this glorious stretch of sky. And I think that is just so amazing.
"She's missing you," The lady next to me said. I don't know why, but I ended up telling this random old chick, Gloria, all about her. Gloria is a sixty year old woman who used to be a hippie in the seventies. That's pretty much all I know, she hasn't talked much, she just let me bitch and complain. She's good at that, like Drom is. I just can't keep her out of my mind.
I shook my head. "No she doesn't. She never wants to talk to me again." I mumbled. The woman of old age smiled. Even though my head was turned, I knew she was smiling, because that's how she's mostly been replying to me for the last hour. Finally, she spoke for once.
"We both have crazy stubborn partners being slaves to love. Or else she wouldn't have come to England thinking your brother was you!
Wilbur and I have been at wit's end for forty three years, we may have been protesting for peaceful times, but us two were everything but that!
'It's all for you, Glo-dear,' he would say when he never came home. He worked day in and day out to pay for my medicine and treatment, you know.
I would accuse him of cheating and using the money for LSD, because we were young and that's what we did. He could've walked out, he should've walked out. A poor, sick hippie addicted to a Yale graduate-but he's stuck by my side, he has. There have been times when I would run out coughing blood and crying, screaming mad at him, and he would just hold me and say, 'it's all for you, Glo-dear,' And I think that's my favorite sentence in the world now." She laughed lightly.
"Your Andromeda isn't going anywhere, not if she promised. She might leave now, even for years. But she will always be there. She'll always be your-" she began to cough violently, and I quickly reached into her purse and gave her the pale pink inhaler she trained me to use without missing a beat. She puffed a few times and I patted her back.
"Thank you, Harold. What was I saying?" She said, tapping my hand with hers. I resisted the urge to tell her that my name was just Harry because of what else she just said.
"That Andromeda would leave me for years," I deadpanned. Gloria smiled and shook her head, wagging her finger at me.
"Oh, no she won't, dear. She might leave now, even for years, but she will always be your Wilbur. Everything she does has been for you, it will continue to be for you. It was made to be, in the stars! Look out that window, isn't it comforting that she shares the same sky as us?" She calmly asked. I followed her gaze out of the oval window while shifting in the first-class recliner seat.
You know what? It is. It really is. Knowing that we could be looking at the same sky...
-Andromeda-
Eventually, Nate went away. He was kind of quick and urgent about it, at least that's what Lianna said. She went back upstairs as soon as he came and watched from her window. She's good at that.
I, however, decided to take a bath.
Thankfully, Halia stocks the bathroom with my favorite Philosophy chocolate shampoo and body wash. I immersed myself into the bubbles and closed my eyes. Halia entered a bit later and gave me a glass of something called Pinot Grecio. I didn't know what it was, but by the second glass I didn't care at all.
The large and circular tub was parallel to a sky roof.
The night sky gave me a calming effect. The stars were twinkling beautifully, but I could almost hear his voice.
I shook the thought away. Too much for right now.
---
I spent the entire next day sleeping, and Lianna's first day at college was here. I meant to see her off, but I ended up falling back on my bed. The next thing I remember is being shaken awake.
I saw dark green eyes.
I felt my eyes grow wide.
It was him.
"What the-" my mouth was instantly covered and my world was black again.
But I felt soft lips press on mine. That's the last I remember.
