The bell rang suddenly that should have brought everyone back to reality but everyone around us remained as still as statues.
Everyone was shocked by what had fell out of my pocket. Honestly I think they were more shocked by the fact that it was a girl like me, a nobody and a guy like him, one of the most popular people around to be 'caught' together.
It didn't matter that I didn't know him or had just met him for the first time in my entire schooling career here. The point was we didn't mix. He was water and I was oil. We never mixed. It was only natural.
It was a scandal and I knew I wasn't going to hear the end of it anytime soon.
I looked down at my boots and felt everyone stare at us. I felt like bursting into tears at that moment.
But slowly one by one they left to go to class. Not before giving me the stink eye. Everyone was dead silent as if we were at a funeral. Might as well be the death of my reputation here. I caught my breath because I thought I'd make too much noise even daring to breathe.
Stupid huh?
Looking up I saw Leo and Dominic stand next to each other. They looked so different no wonder I never recognized Dominic to be from school.
Leo had dirty blonde hair that was spiked and light kind of yellow eyes. They looked like lights and they sparkled in the sun.
Next to Dominic and his slightly wavy dark hair and eyes with the darkest shades of blue right now, they looked like opposite ends of a spectrum. Dominic was a entire head taller than him.
They were so engrossed in their conversation with each other they didn't notice me slowly backing away from them and slowly going towards the school building.
When I was at a safe enough distance not to catch their attention I turned and ran towards the building where my form room was.
Out of breath and my face burning I looked forward to going back to my normal life. I couldn't wait to tell Jessie.
I put my head down and followed the rest of my fellow classmates into the classroom.
I thought I heard MacDonald's call me back their lost chicken but I couldn't be sure.

Some Time Later

"Blythe!'' I carefully turned around in the Cafe to hear Jessie shout my name.
I carefully balanced my tray, bottle of juice and my bag while walking through the crowd to her.
The Cafe was a huge light grey and white room with a wall full of doors that led outside to our outdoor tables and on the other end was our lunch line. This room always had light thanks to the doors.
The inside tables were rectangular grey metal seating up to eight people. The ones outside were wooden and dark brown.
They were set up in uniform lines but by the end of the lunch hour they resembled more of polygon shapes until recently when they decided to bolt them down as a safety hazard.
Adjacent to that was the vending machines that stocked food when you were on the run but your stomach was needing attention too and there was also the sinks and tray and cutlery drop off zone.
The Cafe was like a market, people had to scream to one another to let themselves be heard. There were people packed in most tables and others keeping place for their friends.
Some people were standing in what seemed like a never ending line to get food while other smarter ones went straight to their tables with homemade lunch in tow.
