War, terror and divine magical intervention shaped the Northern region which the people called Mondwelt. The world was chaotic, dry and ravaged with humongous mountain ranges patrolled endlessly by feathered dinosaurs and malicious demons. The people here had not yet learned to live peacefully with what they called "monsters," instead unanimously vouching to stay at home minding their own businesses. Their philosophy was that if the monsters weren't bothered by anyone then they on turn wouldn't be bothered by the monsters. This worked for the most part, until a select handful of people had left their homes to explore on often ill fated missions to eradicate and destroy that which they deemed to be dangerous and evil, many of them becoming the evil themselves through hellish corruption or by fault of their own over inflated egos. Adventurers and fighters gained notoriety and it became commonplace to view these people in the same light that we view celebrities and superheroes, when in fact the adventurers are committing acts more similar to poaching. Needless murder.
The truth is that there had been no real threat for any adventurers to actually deal with since the defeat of the final Wyrm, a hideous maggot like creature with sharp teeth lining the circular inside of its fire breathing mouth. Its crime was the destruction of property. It's sentence was beheading, and then further dismemberment. Its fatty body was eaten during a much needed meal by a party of weary Lizards and Frogs, soaked with sweat under their cumbersome, heavy armour.

Mondwelt's inhabitants were predominantly bipedal, 5 foot high lizards, and grotesque but simple minded horned beetles who usually stood at around three to four feet. Previously there had been a healthy community of Frog people, but in years more recent to this story they had begun to die out mysteriously and were now few in numbers.
It was unusual, and in many cultures frowned upon, for races to intermingle with each other - A holdover from a more suspicious and certainly more racist time where people were less accepting of those who held different political and religious beliefs - and certainly less accepting of those who looked and acted differently.
The story that unfolds here is one of friendship, malice, magic, and above all the overcoming of deeply ingrained prejudices. This story is one held dearly by the residents living in Mondwelt today, though events are usually skewed by word of mouth retellings.
