"Oh, hey! Laine's here!" Zoe shouted into her camera. "I didn't know you be here so soon!" She said as she turned to look at me in her doorway.
"So, what video are you making today? You're June favorites or the Q&A?" I questioned while walking further into her pink room and sitting down on her bed, "And why's Joe downstairs? I thought him and Caspar found a place to move into."
"Can it wait 'til the end of the video? Ill have to cut this all out," Zoe said, a little more forceful than I think she meant it to be.
"Um, yeah," I said. Zoe continued with her video, talking fast and high-pitched into her camera. This video was obviously a Q&A. As she ended her video I took out my phone and texted her a question, "Is it true you like Alfie?"
Zoe picked up her phone when she heard the "ding" and looked at the preview of the text in her lock screen. Her face turned bright red and she gave me a long, hard stare, "No."
I laughed and she waited me to stop before finalizing her ending, "Well, bye guys!" The cheerfulness had returned to her voice, and Zoe stopped the recording, "Oh, my god, you..." she picked up a pillow and threw it at my face, I caught it and threw it back.
"Joe's here because they had to fix the plumbing in the bathroom, apparently Caspar put something down the sink that clogged it. And they don't like having people in their flat when they're there. Isn't Caspar down there, too?" Zoe explained as she opened a bag of chips.
"Oh," I didn't know what else to say. Caspar would be the person to put something in the sink. But now I'd have to see Joe every day I went to Zoe's. Last time I'd seen him we'd left it off a little awkwardly because I had had the biggest crush on him. Zoe didn't know about it, I thought it would've been creepy to tell her I had a crush on her brother.
"Yeah, it's annoying. Joe and Caspar have taken over the whole downstairs, I had to bring all the food I actually wanted to eat up here." Zoe looked down at her phone, "I don't like Alfie anymore...that ended last week."
"It just seemed like you still liked him yesterday. When we went out to eat with everyone. C'mon, you offered to sit next to him, your voice got all high, and you were flirting. Full on flirt, not some little thing but full on!" I seemed very pushy, I was almost trying to convince Zoe she still liked Alfie.
"Ooh...drama!" Joe yelped in his best teenage girl impression as he pushed the door open softly, he sounded like a dying dog.
Zoe picked up a pillow and chucked it at Joe's face. He didn't seem to noticed, Joe just turned his head and kept looking at me "When did you get here?"
"Uh...five minutes ago, I said 'hi' to you as I passed through the kitchen."
Joe finally looked away from me, I was starting to feel uncomfortable, "Oh, yeah."
"Well, I have to go do something...you too have fun. Joe don't get her pregnant." I almost laughed, but then realized she was dead serious. As Zoe walked out the doorway she turned back to look at me and winked.
