Arilla’s Café
It was early spring and already Arilla’s café was bustling with new customers. It was a favorite spot for the locals and even attracted many visitors from neighboring forests. Her little café also consisted of a bakery and flower shop. Her baked goods were just as popular as her café drinks and dishes. And if her customers weren’t admiring her flowers, they were busy buying them. She always had unique varieties. They could buy them in pots or pick out one of her beautiful flower arrangements. She created bouquets for special occasions and smaller arrangements for hair adornments or even to be worn as necklaces. It wasn’t uncommon to see little forest fairies leaving her shop with flower bracelets around their wrists and ankles that she had made for them just for stopping by.
The day was bright and Mama Meadow was in the back of the café, helping out by baking up her famous chocolate moss pudding and sugar snap puffs. In the front of the café, Mama Sweet-tea was busy mixing up yummy drinks: bubbly berry teas and creamy thick cafés. Both had come to help Arilla keep up with the high demand of customers. Today there were even more than usual because today was special. It was the Annual Jubilee, the day where all of the forest celebrated spring and the arrival of the royal family in an elaborate procession. Arilla was busy handing out the special flower arrangements she had already prepared. They were going to be used to decorate the pathway that the royal carriage would come down. Everyone was all excitement.
