The figure soon dissolved into a mist and took off into the sky, leaving him on his knees and gasping as blood trickled down from his wound. He struggled getting up, before falling on his side.

Pain.

Pain was all he felt, before his vision turned red.

Then, his body grew and morphed painfully. All his teeth turned into canines, and wings painfully sprouted from behind his shoulder. Blood trickled down from his face.
All his senses were replaced with a new hunger.

A hunger for blood.

[2 HOURS BEFORE]

Lukas  could've sworn he heard something fall outside. He stood up from his couch and walked over to see what it was. Turned out it was sunny outside, and some snow had melted off his roof, which was now blocking his door. He groaned, before opening his door and punching the snow out of the way. He turned back and started walking, only to hear another thump behind him. He turned onto to see Jack carrying what seemed to be fifteen swords in his arms.

"Hi." Jack said, clearing his throat. Lukas rolled his eyes.
"Let me help" Lukas offered, taking the swords from Jack. A familiar hum was heard, and Lukas turned his head to see a villager in the doorway. It was Nurm, wearing a green tuque(beanie/knitted hat). Nurm had a map and a feather with ink dripping from it.
"What's the point of that?" Lukas asked. Nurm turned to Jack and hummed something to him.
"He says that we could map out the mansion, ya'know. Just in case we get lost." Jack responded. "Also got three days' worth of food" He  plopped down some  sticks, counting them before  reclaiming them. Lukas just sat and watch.

"Where's Petra and Jesse?" Lukas asked. Jack shrugged, before the door swinging open, creating a loud thud. They turned to see Petra in the doorway, holding tools and weapons and who knows what else.

"We're ready!" She shouted. Jesse walked in, carrying what seemed to be an enderchest. "Let's go!"

--------------------------------

It was a silent walk. Petra was in the front. She looked hyped for the new adventure, meanwhile Jesse kept a smile on his face, Lukas behind him with a frown and Jack and Nurm sharing the same expression: curious.

"This is the place!" Petra stopped in front of a huge, broken down and rotted mansion. Must've taken a long time to build, but now it's all gone to waste, with bats roosting in the darkest spots, and vines climbing up convenient spots. It looked like it could break down at any second.

"Well...." Lukas said. "I hope this isn't a waste of time.." He gulped.

As if the vines weren't convenient enough, it was night already.

They would just have to hope nothing would go wrong. It's just a fun little adventure, right?

--------------

A figure stared at them from the darkness of the night, standing beside a bush. It's eyes glew yellow.

"Feast."
