One Wish

As I lay down on my death bed

I heave a sigh of regret

I just know I can't let this be it.

My life had been short-lived.

My body has given up on me.

I feel my soul stray from my weak exterior.

but before I draw out my last breath,

I pray to the heavens for one last wish.

They say before you die, you see a white light;

You see your life flash right before your eyes,

but I open my eyes and see myself in the distance.

I was taken back to that nostalgic day.

My wish came true.

She stood there with me with hundreds of others,

but we only saw each other

It was a moment I wanted to last forever.

I could only hope she felt the same.

I was on my knees, eventually breaking down into tears.

Things like this could never happen again.

I was fated to leave this world some day, and that day is today.

My hopes, my dreams, my future, gone.

They stayed together and kept each other company for a night.

At that moment, he felt like they could go against the world.

He was ready to tell her how he felt, but he didn't. I couldn't.

and now, I realize I'll never get to tell her at all.

I know this memory would still be in my heart if I were to disappear.

Looking at one of the most sincere smiles I've made in my life,

I stood up, wiped off my tears and smiled for one last time before I

fade away
