Camila POV

*few weeks later*

It's been a few rough weeks, but my mind was finally in a place where I can be somewhat stable. Last week on Tuesday was my monthly check up with Demi and I was scared as hell! I didn't want to know what was the next step or what was going to happen. I still don't have a doctor that knows about my blood disorder and that could properly help me.

Turns out it was a false alarm.

-flashback-

-"Now no matter what the results are Camila, just know that you can still fight.", Demi said encouragingly.

-"Yes and we are right here with you as well.", my mom said calmly.

How could they be so... ok with this situation? Don't they realize the danger I could be in? Does life or death mean anything to them?

I just played it off and gave them a nod. Showing a small smile at them. I wasn't enjoying my time there at all. The results were taking forever to come back and I was losing my patience.

Doesn't that ring a bell? Feels like the first time all over again when I sat down to hear the news of my results. Except that time was devastating.

As I was about to get lost in my thoughts a few knocks alarmed me of someone's presence.

Demi immediately got up to open the door to welcome a short, curly haired women holding the all to familiar pink paper.

The women motioned for Demi to speak outside with her. Demi turned to my mom and giving her that "excuse me" look in her eyes. My mom waved he off and turned to me to flash a small smile, reassuring me that everything was fine.

Once Demi stepped back inside the room with the papers in her hand, she sighed heavily and run her hand through her hair. What was going on?

-"Well the results came back and honestly this whole time I was mentally preparing myself to break bad news to you guys. But turns out my assumptions we're wrong... Camila your just fine.", Demi said with a surprise tone in her voice.

I furrowed my eyebrows confusingly and my mom's eyes light up.

-"Didn't you literally call me a few weeks ago telling me my counts were low? I know it couldn't have been the medicine. That wouldn't work that fast.", I spoke with an irritated tone.

-"Yes Demi. What's going on?", my mom questioned with a sketchy look on her face.

-"I understand that you both are quite surprised with these results. Honestly I am too. Turns out as I was speaking with the nurse that when I had called you... I had the wrong result sheet. The one that had the low blood count situation was originally for an elderly man that's around his 80s. He had the highly low count. And you Camila... you've been just fine, in fact, your even better now. Due to the medicine and with your original high counts, your in a pretty good place right now with your blood.", Demi explaining the whole situation. Ending it with a small chuckle and a face palm to her forehead.
