A Wednesday

You see her on a Wednesday. You're pretty sure she sees you too, because she refuses to look anywhere in your general direction. In her defense, you're reluctant to look her way, too. Somehow, by some stroke of luck, the real FBI shows up to take the crime scene over from the NCPD and you don't have to talk to her today. Not yet.

Before you leave, you take one last glance at her. She seems... different. Not happier, or sadder, just different.

You wonder if she regrets letting you go. If she wishes that she hadn't chosen a hypothetical child, a dream, over you.

That morning, you thought you were over. You were convinced. Now, though? Now, you hate her with everything you have all over again, because she hurt you in the deepest way possible. She took away your entire family. All you have left is your aunt, and as much as you love her, she just doesn't get it. She can't get it. She has her perfect family with her perfect husband and her perfect daughter and her perfect son and everything's so happy and nice and that's just not real.

You want to call her. You can't call her.

She hurt you, and you hate her.

It's the next Wednesday that she calls you. She's trying to apologize, tell you that seeing you the week before made her realize how wrong she was.

You tell her no. If she only realized now, over a year later, she isn't really sorry. Because she hurt you, and that wasn't fair.

I think this is the end of my sanvers fics. I'm sorry, but sanvers hurt me too much when they broke up, and now it hurts to write anything with them. This took me over a month to write. It doesn't feel complete, but this is as much as I could do. I might write more later. I don't think so though.

This is goodbye. It was nice writing these though. If you want to see more, I might possibly write wayhaught fics (there's one up on AO3 with the same username, sunshinesanvers, called Colours). I'll probably write more of those eventually.
