Chapter 2 The Big News

"MOOOOOOOM! I'VE GOT SOME GOOD NEWS!". as Sammy told her mom happily.

"What is it Sammy?" as Sammy's mom replied shockingly.

Sammy showed her certificate to her mother.

"Oh my! Congratulations Sammy! Oh my! I can't believe it." Sammy's mom said.

"Neither was I, I thought I'd be in top 7 again but the tables have turned." Sammy replied.

"Congratulations dear! I knew you would have done it." Sammy's mom said.

"Thanks Mom!" Sammy said. "Because of that I'll cook ypur favorite dish for tonight so just sit there and relax" Sammy's mom said happily.

Sammy's mom cooked Sammy's favorite dish.They were eating dinner happily and ended the night with big smiles from their faces.

On the next day...

Rrrrrrriiiing! Rrrrring! Sammy's phone was ringing. When she checked it, she was in shock because it was her dean calling her. She hurriedly answer the phone call.

"Hello?" Sammy said. "Is this Sammy Evans?" the caller asked. "Yes this is she speaking" Sammy replied. "Oh ok, Miss Sammy we would like your presence in the department right now we have something we wanna tell you." the caller said.

"Oh ok! Should I bring something?" Sammy asked. "Yourself would do" the caller replied. "I'll be there then." Sammy said. "Ok bye!" the caller replied then hang up.

Sammy preoares herself directly after receiving that phone call. As she went downstairs

"Mom! I gotta go the department called my presence just awhile ago." Sammy informed her mother.

"Won't you be taking your breakfast?" Sammy's mom asked.

"Naaaah! I'm fine! I'll just eat breakfast when I get back. It'll just be in awhile." Sammy replied.

"Oh ok then! Take care honey! Love you" Sammy's mom said. "I will mom, love you too" Sammy replied and kisses her mom goodbye.

Sammy went to their department happily at the same time nervous because of what would happen there.

What would they wanna talk about? I'm nervous! Oh well, I'll never know unless I arrive there.

She arrived at her school and proceeded to her department with no options. As she arrived..

Knock, knock!. Sammy went inside after she knocked.

"Sammy Evans?" the working scholar who was there asked. "Yes" Sammy replied. "Well then proceed to the dean's office now." the working scholat said. "Oh, thank you" Sammy said politely.

Sammy went straight and went to the dean's office. As she arrives she was told to sit then.

"Sammy, Good Morning! How are you?" the dean asked. "Fine, thank you" Sammy replied.

"Sammy do you have any idea why did we call you today?" the dean asked. "Actually, no" Sammy replied.

"Well, as you can see when you finished your junior year you should be proceeding to Senior year and when you reached Senior year you would have your practicum outside the school. Are you aware of that?" the dean said.

"Yes, I am." Sammy said. "Since your a deans lister and ranked 1st we have a rule here that when a student is in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd rank they would have the chance to have their practicum outside the country." the dean said.

Sammy is in a state of shock when she heard the dean said other country. "So does it mean that I've got to have my practicum outside the country????!!!" Sammy asked shockingly.

"Yes" the dean replied. "'Congratulations Sammy. You would have your practicum outside the country." the dean continued.

"Oh my! Thank you, thank you! Outside the country wow!" Sammy said with mix emotions. "Which country would I be going to?" Sammy asked.

"Good question! For this year, the faculty agreed that the country you would go will be Seoul, Korea. The other 2 would be in other parts of Korea too." the dean said.

''KOREAAAAAA??????!!!" Sammy asked shockingly. "Yes, here is your flight going to Korea and the company you woul.be practicum with will be waiting by your arrival. So Congratulations and Good Luck." the dean said.

Sammy hugged the dean tightly and says thank you a lot of times. "But when will I come back for the graduation?" Sammy asked suddenly.

"You got 2 years contract with the company so after 2 years, you'll come back home and they would send us your performance and there we should check if you could graduate or not." the dean said.

"Wow! That's long but I guess I can do it! Thank you! Thank you! I'll be working hard and make our school proud." Sammy said.

"I know you will. So take care then and goodluck! you can go now Sammy" the dean said.

"Oh my! thank you, thank you!" Sammy said it in a million times and walked off the office directly.

She fled home directly with big smile on her face just like yesterday.
