"August get down here!!" My mom yelled from downstairs.

"What the f*** do she want?  I  said to myself.

I got up from my bed and put on my slides before opening my room door and walked out jogging down the stairs. I looked for my mom and realized she was in the kitchen cooking some food and i walked up to her and looked down at the food she was cooking and it looked so good.

"Hey ma" i said giving her a side hug and a kiss on her cheek.

"August what did i tell you about leaving unwashed dishes in the sink? Go wash them damn dishes" she demanded and i sucked my teeth.

"Why you always fussing at me for no reason? Why you never bother Terrance?" I questioned starting to wash the dishes.

"Terrance know how to clean after hisself and he know better and i don't have to repeat myself over and over to him about the same thing all the time"  she said.

"Whatever ma" i said washing the dishes as i was told.

Moments later Terrance came walking in with a girl behind him and i looked her up and down and looked at Terrance who had a grin on his face.

"Hey my peoples" he said and the girl sat down in a chair.

"Who that?" I asked looking at the girl and she waved at me.

"Oh this is my friend Airiana" Terrance said and my mom looked up from the food she was cooking and she looked over at Airiana who was looking hella nervous.

"Who are you? Introduce yourself" my mother said.

"Well i am Airiana and i am 16 years old and i currently go to the same high school as Terrance and we met a few months back and we became very close friends since then and today he wanted me to meet you all" she said.

"Nice to meet you Airiana... Food will be ready in 20 minutes" my mom said.

"Nice to meet you too mam and thank you" she said.

"August finish washing these dishes" my mother demanded and i did as told.

"August!!!! August!!!!" I woke up from my sleep from someone calling my name and shaking me and i looked up and seen it was my teacher standing over me and i realized the whole class was giggling and laughing.

"Class settle down!!!! August are you okay sweetheart" my teacher questioned looking at me.

I sat up and stretched and nodded. "Damn boy was knocked out" i heard Lucas say.

"Ok i suggest you go to sleep a little bit earlier because we have a test coming up before winter break and i don't want you to fail so please try to stay awake and pay attention to what i am teaching on the board" she said and smiled.

"Yeah" i responded opening up my binder and taking out a piece of paper.

I looked around the room and there were kids still laughing and my eyes landed on Karen and she looked at me and flashed a smiled before looking forward and paying attention to what the teacher was saying.

"Ok class so i realized that you ladies and gentlemen scored very low on your last test and i see that you guys are having trouble with complex numbers so i am going to pair you guys into groups of two and you guys are going to work on a project on Complex Numbers and this project should be turned in by October 29th and is worth eight grades so make sure y'all do it or your grade won't be looking too good in my class and it will be very difficult to raise it up so it's up to you" she said and i sucked my teeth.
