Annual Granger Family Reunion
Now, Hermione's parents were never rich. They were very well off, seeing as Mr and Mrs Granger were dentists. Because of this, they were scorned by most of their relatives, who were rich and "very successful" as they would say.
Hermione's cousins always teased her as a kid, calling her "Hermy" and"Beaver", and made fun of her social awkwardness. This is the reason why she had not gone to them for the past 10 years. But now, she had no excuse not to go, which led her into the situation that she's in right now.
