Slowly, I open my heavy eyelids to the world around me. I'm in a familiar yellow room staring right into light brown eyes of someone I don't know. "Who-" I start.
The nurse places a cold pack on my head and gets up. I hear muffled voices outside of the door and soon my parents come into my view.
"Hey honey," my mom says, stroking my dirty blond hair.
"Hi," I croak.
My dad lifts a glass of water to my parched mouth and I take a grateful sip. "We were so worried about you," he says, tears of joy filling his big black eyes.
My mom nods, her eyes welling up as well.
"What do you mean?" I ask, confused.
"You were gone for almost two days," dad says. "You wouldn't be here right now if Jenny hadn't found you."
I nod. Jenny. I remember her. My therapist.
"Well we'll let you get some rest," mom says, giving me a kiss on my hot cheek.
"Ok," I say, getting tired again.
"See you later," dad says, giving me a kiss on the forehead.
"Bye guys," I say as they leave, already drifting back into sleep.
