Chenle
16 April 2018

Chenle walked to school with Renjun as he would any other day.  However, the peaceful walked soon turned into a frantic sprint when rain started pouring down on them.

"Hurry up Chenle, I don't want to get soaked!" Renjun yelled; but Chenle had other plans.

He was running around, letting the rain soak into his clothes and drip through his hair. Renjun was running to catch up with him, even though Chenle seemed to be running further away from the school.

"You're going to be late!" he called after the younger. Renjun stopped running to catch his breath, then gave up chasing after his friend.

Chenle knew he would give up eventually, and he also knew Renjun would probably yell at him for being irresponsible later. People often said Chenle would have gotten himself killed already if it weren't for Renjun.

He wasn't always uptight though. Sometimes Chenle could convince him into loosening up a bit.  It took a lot of patience though, something he didn't have.

Chenle finally wore himself out, and actually walked to school.  He knew he was late, but it was expected of him from his teachers.  He often came in tardy, usually with some lavish story.

Some of the older kids' classes hadn't started yet.  He spotted Renjun talking to another boy who he didn't remember the name of.  While Chenle walked to his class, he noticed another kid in his grade who still wasn't in class.

It was Jisung, the troublemaker of his grade that he shared classes with.  Jisung never did anything too bad, just small disruptions that usually made people laugh.  He liked to entertain, and that was his charm.

Chenle found it annoying sometimes, but he would occasionally laugh along with the group.   Jisung often chose one person to pick on.  He'd mess with that person for a week or two, then get bored and find someone else to torment.

Lately, Jisung had taken an interest in Chenle.  He found it funny how easily he got annoyed.   Chenle took this time to study the younger boy without actually being friends with him.  Renjun usually told Chenle to stay away from him, saying he was nothing but trouble.

Chenle ignored Jisung for the time being, and hurried to class although he knew he'd probably have to serve detention after school for his 3rd tardy.

"You have really squishy cheeks." Chenle was currently sitting in history class (still a little damp) while Jisung poked his cheeks.  It was hard to focus when someone was constantly pinching your face.

"Do you speak?" Jisung asked him.

'Yes, a lot actually.  Just not to you,' Chenle thought, even though he really wanted to get to know the boy.  Something was off about Jisung, and Chenle wanted to know what it was.

'Jisung is not a good influence.  Stay away from him.'

"Hello?  I asked you a question," Jisung pestered.

"What do you want?"

"Woah, you said something for once.  I was starting to get bored." Jisung continued poking at him, now more enthusiastically to get another reaction.
