Megatron stood up from where he sat as he met his brother's gaze optic to optic as it continued to rain hard over the two faction leaders.
Megatron:No?
Megatron asked very puzzled.
Megatron:What do you mean by "no", do you plan to imprison me for all eternity for all that I've done?
Optimus:Not that ether, Megatron. I wish to end this war just as badly as you do. However, I want to end this entire conflict with words, not force.
Megatron:Why? What brought this all about?
Optimus:I have been foolish not to see what our war has done to Cybertron and almost to Earth over and over again. These battles have gone on for too long and they have to end here, Megatron.
Megatron:Tell me something Optimus. After all these cycles, after all of the tension, despair, and pain this war has caused everybody, why haven't you done it? Why haven't you ended me?
Optimus:I didn't want to. I just could not bring myself to end the life of my own brother. I know there is still good in you, Megatron. I always knew.
Megatron:I knew it. The very reason as to why you kept me alive is because you still loved me.
Optimus:I don't want to fight with you anymore, Megatron. Where this war ends all depends on today. Please, I want to help you brother, but I can't help you unless you let me.
Megatron:Why do you wish to help me now?!
Megatron suddenly shouted.
Megatron:You never mentioned anything like that before, why do you bring it up now?!
Optimus:I wished I had done this sooner but I was just so focused on stopping you and saving the humans that I guess I've lost focus on our brotherhood. I'm very sorry, Megatron.
After a moment of Megatron calming down, he responded to his brother's apology.
Megatron:That is what I've done as well. I now realize that Cybertron is a lost cause and that this planet is our home now. Which is why I will conquer this planet and it's inhabitants in order to bring this planet to its rightful glory.
Optimus:That's where I'm confused. I thought you wanted to bring Cybertron back into a peaceful and fair place as well as get rid of the corruption that was in our senate. What happened to you?!
Megatron:You really don't know, do you?
Optimus:What is it about your intentions that I don't know?
Megatron:You think I just want to conquer everything around me and make everything about me, don't you? You're just thinking the very same thing Sentinel thought when I destroyed him that day!
Optimus:Why him? He was the father we never had! Why did you have to murder him!?
Megatron:Exactly! Everybody loves you! Sentinel always said you'd be his successor in private when you and I aren't around! Even the Council themselves recognized you as someone worthy of being a Prime!
Optimus suddenly made a look as if his world began to crumble. After a while trying to collect himself, Optimus spoke again.
Optimus:Megatron. I want you to tell me everything you personally went through when we were separated. I need to know what's going on inside your mind so I can better understand you.
Megatron:"sighs" Fine.
Suddenly, the area shifted to Megatron's memories as he began to monologue to Optimus.
"Memories"

Megatron:As you know, we started out with nothing. In fact, we never had anything. We were just orphans that everybody just ignored when we walked through the streets. The orphanage we lived in was eventually burned to the ground in an accident, causing us to leave our only home. We were on our own and we were all we had in the universe. That was, until Sentinel found us one day. After he took us in, our troubles supposedly ended that day. However, it was clear that the world around us was not clean and prosperous like we thought and Sentinel was uninterested in making change. Overtime, as we separated to follow our own paths, I, unlike you, starting feeling the need to make changes in our society. Overtime, my army formed and we later became our planets regime. You and your Autobots were our greatest threat that stood between us and our goal of making Cybertron ours so that we can restore it to its former glory. Unfortunately, our war costed us Cybertron and then millions of years later when we crashed on Earth, we slowly made this world our new home and restarted our war right where we left off.
"Memories end"
Megatron:Now, here we are. Are you satisfied, Prime?
Optimus:Theirs one thing I want you to know, Megatron. I too was concerned about Cybertron's state. I just didn't notice enough of it.
Megatron:Ohh, yeah. And why is that?
Optimus:Its because I was too focused on my own life and the lives of the people around me.
Like Megatron's, the area switches to Optimus's memories as he begins to narrate his life before the war started.
Optimus:When we were separated for that brief moment, I was alone. I had no one. I began to feel pressure from the world around me as Sentinel wished for me to become a great warrior and leader worthy of being a Prime. After all, I was a descendant of a Prime. But deep down, I felt it was not for me. However, I eventually found my place in the Iacon Hall of Records where I found a mentor in Alpha Trion. Later on, I started to find my footing as I grew when you and I eventually reunited and joined the Cybertronian military for a brief while. When I lead my squad through the most dangerous situations, it was like I found myself in a way. Later on, I became more and more sure of myself not only because I found myself, but I had people in my life who believed in me and supported me through thick and thin. But sadly, I slowly learned about the corruption and greediness that plagued our planet and I too wanted to fix it. When I told my speech to the council, I felt like I was addressing the reason why Cybertron was destroying itself and my speech was our solution, the people's solution. Of course, I wasn't trying to prove myself better than you in front of our planet and the council but apparently you were jealous beyond belief.
"Memories ending"
Optimus:I just want to say that I'm sorry. I should have talked with you before hand before we went to the council but I was so focused on our confrontation with the council that it didn't come across my mind.
Megatron just couldn't respond. Optimus was right. Right about everything, the council, his actions, and his reasoning behind them. He was jealous of Optimus this whole time and a part of him wished he was like him.
Megatron:I didn't know you were dealing with so much, Optimus. I'm sorry.
Optimus:No need to apologize, Megatron. I understand why you did what you did. You just wanted to change Cybertron, something everyone wanted to do.
Megatron:It wasn't just that. It was my arrogance and jealousy of you that costed Cybertron it's existence.
Optimus:I don't blame you for how you felt, Megatron. It must have been difficult for you.
Megatron:You know, I would have never listened to that speech if I still didn't care about you but now I understand why you spared me. You believed in me, didn't you Optimus.
Optimus:Yes, I believed you could change, Megatron. Any sentient being that exists has the capacity for change. You just need to give that person some time and maybe a chance or two.
Megatron:It was not only this conversation that changed me, brother. When I was temporarily possessed by Unicron, I finally understood the true meaning of oppression and have thus lost my taste for inflicting it. I no longer wish to make war with you, Optimus. From this day forward, our war is over. Thank you, brother.
Optimus suddenly hugged him as soon as he said those words. Optimus was beyond any form of happiness as the war he had fought for so long was finally over. Not only that, but one of the many people he cares about more then anything in the universe itself was finally his brother again. And, Optimus couldn't be any more relieved.
