"but i'm broke." i told him. "i'll pay." he said. "that changes everything." i said.

he giggled. "alright, let us be off!"

phil took me to that little ice cream parlor on main street. "my mum used to take me here all the time when i was younger." i said, inhaling the smell of fresh mint and vanilla. "why did she stop?" phil asked. "my dad was put into the military, and he was shot. but he was repaired but he was an idiot enough to get back in. my mom changed after that. i guess she's afraid of losing him." i said.

"awe." phil frowned. "i miss those days. being the only child, having my dad around and my mom actual giving me affection. she still does but it's not the same." i muttered. phil rubbed my back. "it's okay." he said. it seemed to have calmed me down a bit. "i understand. my mom and dad always loved me. then my younger brother came along and it was like they forgot me. they fed me and hugged me when i left for school, but i never was tucked in anymore, or kissed on the forehead for a goodmorning. they're still like that. that's why i chose to move out."

"awe."

"no, i'm fine. i have my wonderful friends that care for me and that's all i need." phil smiled. his smile is contagious.

"how may i help you two?" the girl behind the counter said, giving us a perky grin. she had a happy childhood. lucky her. "2 scoops of cotton candy on a waffle cone," phil gestured for me to order. "c-can you order for me? i just want 2 scoops of (favorite ice cream flavor) on a waffle cone." i whispered. when it came to me ordering food, i just couldn't do it. "..and 2 scoops of (favorite ice cream flavor) on a waffle cone."

"alrightie! is that all?" the girl asked. "yes." phil nodded. she took us to the register and phil paid. 5.56, please." she smiled. phil gave her 6 dollars, putting the change in the tip jar, and we walked out.

"mmm!" i moaned, licking the tasty treat that i've been longing to eat again for years. "i can't remember the last time i had this."

"mhm. so good." phil squeezed his eyes shut in satisfactory. "where to next, captain jack?" i joked. "we should get real food." phil reasoned. "i agree." i nodded. "mcdonalds?" phil looked at me. "mcdonalds." i nodded.

i love phil. he knows me. it's like a twin, but i'm the uglier one.

"one 10 piece chicken nugget, uh.." phil turned to me. "what do you want?" he asked me. "10 piece chicken nugget."

"two 10 piece chicken nuggets." he said to the woman at the register. "and 2 medium (favorite drink)."

"is that all?" she asked. "yep." phil handed her the money and grabbed our cups, getting the drink he said. "how did you know what i want?" i asked. "i just guessed. was i right?"

"yeah."

"good."

after that, phil offered to take me to the movies. "sure." i said. "let's watch everyday!"

"that's what i was planning to see anyways." phil said, as we walked to the theatre. everything was so close to where we lived. "i may or may not have planned this entire date." phil smirked. i blushed. he called it a date. i can't even. this is the greatest day of my life.

we walked into the theatre, bought our popcorn and candy and went inside. the entire theatre was empty besides for us.

"that was so sad, she should've went with 'a' instead ." i said. "i agree. but at least she got alexander. he's so positive."

phil walked me to dan's doorstep. "i had a great night." phil said. "maybe we could do it again?"

"totally! i would love to."

i was getting ready to turn around until phil grabbed my hand. "b-before you go." he gave me a quick kiss on my lips, and started walking off. he turned around. "goodnight!" and he was off.

i walked inside where dan sat on the couch, eyeballing me up and down. "no funny business happened, hm?" he narrowed his eyes. "no, don't worry."

"no fucking with boys."

"yet." i said, running upstairs, locking myself into my room.

this was probably the best day ever.
