“Cal, sharing is not caring!” Michael snapped on the second morning of being sick. He had caught his boyfriend’s flu.
“Oh, come on, it’s not that bad.” Calum said, “I survived and so will you.”
“Not so sure about that.” Michael mutter, rolling over in bed and pulling the covers over his head.
“Mikey, I had no idea that you were so melodramatic.” Calum laughed. He went into the kitchen to get his drama queen boyfriend a glass of water and some medicine, “Here.” He slipped the hand containing the tablets under the blanket.
“What’s this?” Michael asked, removing the blanket from his head and sitting up.
“Just painkillers,” Calum smiled. “I’ve been where you are, I know how crappy you are feeling.” Michael nodded accepting the pills and swallowing them down with a few mouthfuls of water.
“Best thing you can do for yourself is sleep.” Calum said.
“Can we cuddle?” Michael asked. He was tired and definitely keen for sleep, but he also wanted to be comforted.
Calum nodded, lying down beside him and fixing the covers over the both of them. “Enjoy the quiet while it lasts, Luke and Ashton will be over soon.”
“Argh,” Michael groaned. There was never a boring moment with those two around.
Both boys woke sometime later to the sound of somebody knocking loudly and consistently on the door. “I’ll get it.” Calum sighed standing up.
“Calum,” Ashton said loudly, pulling him into a hug as he opened the door.
“Luke, Ashton.” Calum greeted, squirming his was out of Ashton’s arms.
“How’s our Mikey?” Luke asked.
“He’s okay.” Calum said, “He’s still in bed.”
Ashton took that as his cue and went to jump on the bed, “Wake up.” He called, dropping onto his stomach and starting a tickle attack.
“I’m sick, Ashton. Bugger off.” Michael grumpily said, getting angry at his bandmate.
“You’re not fun.” Ashton said going off to annoy Luke instead.
“You okay?” Calum asked Michael, going back to sit on the bed.
“Not really,” Michael admitted, “I feel like shit.”
“I’m sorry.” Calum said guilty, “I shouldn’t have to let you look after me when I was sick.”
“Gonna puke.” Michael abruptly said, racing off to the bathroom.
Luke followed him in, Calum not being that good with other people’s vomit. “Sorry you’re not well.” He said, crouching down behind Michael and rubbing his back.
“It’s not your fault.” Michael said leaning back into him, “If I didn’t love Calum so much I would murder him, this is all his fault.”
Luke laughed, “It’s usually under different circumstances, but I often feel that way about Ash.”
Michael jumped as there was a knock on the bathroom door, “Quit hogging my boyfriend.” Ashton called through the door.
“We’re being summoned.” Luke said, helping his friend to his feet.
“Yay,” Michael said sarcastically, going to the sink to rinse he mouth out.
“What do you want to do, babe?” Calum asked Michael as he made his way back to the bed.
“Can we just chill and watch a movie, or something?” Michael asked, not really having the energy to do anything.
“Yeah, what movie do you want to watch?” Calum asked.
“I don’t care.” Michael shrugged, “I’m probably just gonna end up falling asleep anyway.”
Calum nodded, finding some random movie that the four of them had probably watched a thousand times before and putting it on.
As he had predicted Michael fell asleep before they were even half way through it. The three remaining boys finding themselves peckish.
“I could cook something?” Ashton suggested.
“NO!” Both Luke and Calum protested. The last time Ashton had tried to cook was still too prominent in both of their memory’s.
“Okay, got that message loud and clear,” Ashton said, “Should we order in some pizza then?”
“Okay.” Luke agreed, pulling up and app on his phone and starting an order, “What does everybody want?”
“I don’t care,” Calum said getting up, “I’m going to go check on Michael.”
Ashton nodded, snatching the phone from Luke as Calum walked away.
“Are you awake?” Calum asked lying next to Michael.
“Sadly,” Michael answered, coughing into his pillow.
“Oh, babe,” Calum sympathized rubbing his back. “Anything I can do to help?”
“No.” Michael shook his head, “I just want to sleep.”
“Okay, well I better get back to entertaining Ash and Luke.” Calum said, reluctantly getting up.
“Yeah, please do, before they blow the place up or something.” Michael laughed.
Calum nodded, going back to finish watching the movie while they waited for the pizza to arrive.
Luckily Michael didn’t get as sick as Calum had and he was starting to feel better by the next day, and a couple of days after that he was ready to get back to all the crazy shenanigans with his band and boyfriend.Total words 808
