Filler Characters: Ashia, Jynx, and Seryn

Rain steadily fell from the dark sky, clouds covering the sparkling of the stars, the moon completely hidden. It bathed the world in a depressing darkness. A darkness that was all too fit for the atmosphere around Jynx. She sat on the curb, clueless as to where she was at. Seryn had left her after treating her like a dog. She could still feel the red and purple spots of searing pain all over her skin. Her head felt heavy from the blow she had taken from his fist. She never understood what she had done wrong. She listened, she obeyed, she didn't talk back, and she didn't defend herself. She had learned too quickly that it only made things worse. So what was she still doing wrong?

She was completely soaked and the cold had reached her bones. Shivering, she hugged herself, looking through the haze of hair in front of her face. The street was completely empty and all the shops and restaurants were closed, not a vehicle or person in sight. She sighed, trying to hug herself tighter, shivering from the now gentle breeze that was blowing. She supposed she couldn't sit there forever and got up, walking in the direction she thought might get her somewhere she recognized.

She could feel the stinging pain in her knee from the three stomps Seryn had done and it caused her to limp. Her whole body hurt and she could feel the warmth of tears welling in her eyes as she kept walking. They were partially from the physical pain and also from the emotional pain she felt. The longer she walked, the more her pain grew and the more she thought about what could have happened. She had finally reached a place where she recognized how to get somewhere safe. It was about three blocks from Ashia's house. Her heart lifted slightly at the thought of her best friend. He would help her without a doubt.

She tried to quicken her already lopsided pace. Pain tore through her as she hobbled closer and closer to his house. As soon as it was within sight, she sped up again, the pain beginning to become unbearable. She soon reached his front door, managing to knock twice, her whole body shaking from the cold and pain. A few seconds later, the door opened to reveal a shirtless Ashia standing in his sweats.

Ashia started to smile until he realized she was soaked and crying. "Jynx?! What the fuck happened?! Get in here!"

He rushed her inside, noting her limping and the bruises she had on the visible parts of her arms and legs. Anger washed over him but he tried to remain calm. She stood shivering, looking down. Tears fell from her face and melted into the puddles of droplets on the floor from the water on her clothes. Ashia quickly ran to the bathroom and grabbed a towel for her.

"T-Thank you." she shivered.

"Try and at least dry your hair. I'll grab a change of clothes real quick." He said, disappearing back into the hallway.

She tried to reach up to dry her hair a bit but a loud popping sound came from her left side. Her breath caught in her chest as she gripped at the burning pain in her ribs. Had Seryn broken them again? As soon as Ashia returned to see her nearly in a ball on the floor, he picked her up, taking her to the bathroom. She didn't protest or speak. She was freezing and in so much pain.

"A-Ashia." She whispered.

He turned the water in the tub on, plugging the drain. "Shh. Don't say anything. Let me get a bath together so you can warm up. We will talk afterwards. I need time to calm down."

He didn't give her much of a choice. As soon as the tub was full, she tried to stand but didn't have much luck. Ashia sighed, helping her up, trying to keep his eyes elsewhere as he helped her remove her shirt and pants. He could feel the swelling on her knee and ribs as well as a few minor swelled spots on her arms. He didn't want to look at her not only because she was now standing in her bra and panties, but also because he didn't want to see the extent of the damage that Seryn had did.

Once he had helped her in, he informed her that he was going to leave the door open in case she needed help. She had simply nodded, sinking down into the water a bit. The warmth both stung and soothed her skin. She could faintly hear Ashia moving about in the kitchen, probably making something to eat for her. She closed her eyes, letting the water soothe her sore skin. It had been a long time since anyone had ran a bath for her. Then again, it had also been a long time since she had seen Ashia.

Now that she had actually thought about it, how long had it been exactly since she last saw Ashia? A year? Two years? More? She had lost track of time being with Seryn. She settled on at least a year. Then she thought back to when he had opened the door. She hadn't noticed it then, but he had gotten taller and his body had been more toned. His abs had become more defined and his arms definitely were bigger. And the V leading down...

She stopped herself at that point, shaking her head, splashing water on herself. This was not the time to think of such things. The soft sounds of Ashia's footsteps approached the closed shower curtain.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah. Thanks Ashia." She spoke a bit more clearly now, the shivering in her voice gone.

"Good. I made you something to eat so whenever you're ready to get out, there are a change of clothes on the sink. Would you like me to close the door on my way out?" He asked.

"No. It's alright. I trust you." She said simply.

With that, he left the bathroom. She sat up, trying to wipe what dirt she could off of her skin. After she was satisfied, she pulled the plug and slowly managed to get out of the tub, wrapping a towel around herself before looking in the mirror. She looked horrible. She had a bad bruise along the line of her jaw and her lip was busted. She could see so many bruised adorning her skin that she almost felt like a Dalmatian.

Embarrassed, she quickly dressed herself and made her way carefully to the living room. She laid down on the couch on her back, managing to stretch one arm above her head while the other laid across her stomach. She kept her hurt knee stretched out but pulled the other one up to where it was leaning against the back of the couch. She was quite comfortable and the pain had calmed down slightly. Before she knew it, she had fallen sleep.

Ashia returned to the living room, having heard her get out of the bathtub. Once seeing her asleep, he set the food on the coffee table before pulling the blanket off the back of the couch and covering her up. He wasn't going to disturb her. She looked peaceful asleep as she was. He sat in the chair opposite of the couch and watched her for a while, twirling a throwing knife in his fingers. His anger was still pretty high, but his main concern at the moment was Jynx.
