Jugheads POV

Tonight is Bettys last night workin for Penny. I'm so happy for her. Then we can go back to being semi normal, she will still be a serpent but hopefully one day she won't have to be that either.

I walk out of my room and into the kitchen ready to go and pick her up. Mom is standing by the stove cooking and dad is sitting at the table with Jellybean working on her homework.

"Hey dad. I need to use the car tonight". He looks up at me with a confused look on his face.

"Why"?

"I need to go and see Betty".

"Son you are spending way too much time out and not enough time here with the family. I think you should stay into night". They haven't had a problem with me leaving until tonight, why now?

"Your dad is right Jughead. You need to stay home". Mom says from across the room.

"But she needs me! I have to go". I feel myself getting angry and my cheeks getting hot.

"The answer is no, Jughead". I go back to my room and throw my beanie on the floor. What am I supposed to do now, she needs me. I pick up my phone and dial her number. After a few rings I hear her sweet voice.

"Hey Jug, what's up"?

"Betty, I'm sorry. My parents won't let me leave".

"Oh". She pauses. "It's okay. I can handle it".

"Are you sure your going to be okay? I can try to sneak out and meet you"!

"No Jug, I don't want you to get into trouble for me. Stay home, I'll be fine".

"I'm sorry Betty".

"It's alright Jug, I'll see you tomorrow at school"?

"Yeah, Goodnight Betts".

"Night Jug". She hangs up and I throw myself on my bed and my phone on the floor. I wish that I could be there for her tonight.

At least this is the last night she has to do this. After this I won't have to be so worried that she is going to get hurt. She will only have to meet with the serpents line once a week and the rest of the time she will be on the northside with me away from harm.

We need more nights like last night together. We had fun and we got to spend actual real time together. I love spending time with her no matter what we are doing she makes it all better just by being there. Even at school. Before she moved here I only had Archie and Veronica and since they started dating they are so consumed with each other that they don't have time for me that much. I was hating going to school. Then she came and that changed, I actually started enjoying school.

Bettys POV

I walk downstairs and into my moms room. She is sitting on her bed looking at her phone.

"Hey mom, you busy"?

"No sweetie what do you need"?

"Could you give me a ride to the Whyte Wyrm"? She stands up and grabs her jacket.

"Yep. Let's go". We walk out to the car and get in. As she starts driving she looks over at me.

"Betty, I'm proud of you".

"For what mom"?

"For being so brave through this. And for choosing to leave the serpents when you turn 18. I shouldn't have ever joined them but I was young and in love". She laughs to herself. "I was so stupid".

"Mom your weren't stupid".

"Yes! I was!". She says still laughing. "I joined a gang for a boy, a boy that I'm not even with anymore". Her laughing stops. "A lot of them are like my family now, but Betty, I want you to know that none of them come before you". Our eyes meet and I know she means it.

"Thank you mom". The rest of the drive is pretty quiet and when we finally get to the bar I start to feel anxious knowing I'm doing this alone tonight.

"Do you want me to go in with you"?

"No I'm okay". I step out and walk in to the bar. This is my last night and then I'm done. I stroll right to the back and into Penny's office.

"Betty... I'm assuming your mom talked to you".

"Yes she did. Thank you Penny".

"Yeah well, don't get used to me being so kind. It won't happen again". She warns.
"The trunk are in the closet like they always are, they need to be brought to the other side of the southside".

I walk over to the closet and open it. This delivery has seven boxes. They usually only have four or five. I pick one up and go out the back door tp the truck. Once they are all out I get into the truck and start driving. I keep forgetting that Jughead isn't behind me and I keep looking for him just to be disappointed. I miss him.

I have been driving for 40 minutes when I finally get to the right place. I slowly pull up and stop. I kill the engine and step out of the car. I'm at an old building. I walk up to the door and knock on it, listening for someone.

Suddenly the door swings open and a group of men step out.

"Who are you"?

"Delivery girl". I say trying to joke with them to lighten the mood.

"Where are they"? One of them says and I lead them to the back of the truck. Each of them grabs a box except one.

"Where's the last box"?

"What do you mean"?

"You only have 6 where is the 7th box"?!

"There was six when I left, one must have fell out. I can go  and drive down the road and look-" they cut me off.

"Do you and Penny think that we are stupid? That we wouldn't notice?"

"No, no really  I had all of them when I left". The one without a box grabs me by my arms and pulls me with them.

"Penny does want to give us wheat we order then we don't have to give her back her deliverer".What the hell is happening

"Please let me go, I'll find the box".

"Your staying with us".  They pull me into the building and the one holding me throws me to the ground causing me to hit my head and then everything goes dark.
