In the Cafeteria

I just finished with English class and I'm already starving. As I grabbed my tray full of the usual meal of the day, I head over to the only empty table in the cafeteria. Many of the people who I walked past gave me strange looks as if they are weirded out by my presence.

"Oh my god, is THAT her?"

'"Yeah, it is."

"Ew, what a weirdo. How did she even get the one-and-only bad boy, Jeon Jungkook, and the charismatic prince, Kim Taehyung, in one day?"

"I know right? Unbelievable.'"

"I bet she slips on purpose just to get Jungkook's attention?"

"Hahahahaha oh, is that so?"

"Hahahahahaha what a clutz."

Just focus on yourself Kylee. Don't let these people get to you. You'll go home eventually once school is over so don't sweat it.

While hoarding down the food quickly, I felt someone tap my shoulder from behind me. As I turned my head slightly to look who it is, I immediately knew whose presence have I been feeling. This bright aura, sparkling with good looks and kindness, was no other than Kim Taehyung himself.

"Well hellooooo Kylee! Do you mind if I sit next to you? I don't see any seats available-"

Sitting across from us on the other side of the cafeteria, was a group of three popular girls known as the Rowdy Queens. They are obviously, the most popular girls in the school and they've been trying to get any guy who stands out in this school ever since.

One of them stood up and waved her hand for Taehyung to see.

"Yoo-hoo! Taehyung sweetie, why won't you come sit with us instead? You don't want some creep to have your food infected, now would you?"

That girl, goes by the name of Yuna. She is known to be one of the hottest girls in the school. She'd purposely pull her skirt up, right above her thighs, in order to get any guy she wants. Rumor has it that she tried to seduce one of the teachers just to get a passing grade for a test that she flunked so badly. And... that's all I know coming from a few classmates of mine.

Taehyung turned his head then gave Yuna the usual kind smile that many of the girls fall for. "It's ok Yuna, I'll sit next to Kylee. Thanks though!" Taehyung grabbed a seat next to me and scooted his chair over. He asked me, "Oh, what did you get? *gasp* A sandwich? Me too!"

Yuna's expression turned blank as she just stood there in shock while two of her friends tried to snap her out of a trance.

I gave a slight grin from seeing Yuna's priceless reaction to her getting rejected by Taehyung. For a girl like that, she won't take the rejection that easily. She's the type who doesn't stop until she gets what she wants.

"Kylee? Kylee, are you listening to me?"

Huh?

I came back to reality with the realization that Taehyung was still next to me.

"Hey, you alright?"

I smiled at Taehyung. "Mhm. Sorry, I'm just out of it today."

"Oh, it's ok. I was saying that I was glad to have someone like you."

"Huh? Why?"

Why would he think that?

"Well it's because you're very... genuine. Your reactions, the way you talk, the way you act, it's all very honest."
