The next morning I wake up to the bright sun seeping through my window. I rub my eyes and stretch feeling happy. But I feel like there is something I forgot weighting down my brain.
It hits me suddenly.
I have a decision: go to the Youth Help Center, which I know is a kinder way to say jail, or do community work for the town for 2 months.
I decide to make a list to help with my decision:
Pros And Cons of Youth Help Center:
Pro: don't have to do anything
Con: will be away from my family
Pro: won't have to do dishes
Con: won't have delicious dinners (?)
Pro: will make new friends
Con: a new learning experiance/ will be a long time away
Pros and Cons of Community Work
Pro: will be able to see my parents
Con: have the danger of my friends seeing me working
Pro: will learn from it
Con: probably won't be fun
Pro: shorter amount of time
Con: will be super tired
After I finish my two lists I feel more confident in my decision. I am about to circle the choice I would like as my punishment just as u hear a soft knocking on my door.
" Who is it?" I ask to the person behind the door.
" It's me, Ava." I hear my brother say.
My tension disappears, and I go toward the door to let him in.
