It was the kind of day that made one feel glad to be alive–a glorious and wonderful day with the sun shining so bright high up in the sky, sent its glorious light bouncing from roads and white painted walls straight into the eyes of so many of the young people, hurrying about, so much hustle and bustle with their bags and suitcases, and so many people saying goodbye, all in a rush to get home.
Christabel was struggling with a mattress under one arm and a suitcase in the other hand. Suddenly she missed a step and nearly fell flat on her face, when a shadow fell across her line of vision, and she glanced up after recovering from the shock to see Alex right in front of her—the most gorgeous hunk of masculinity she had ever seen, arms outstretched to catch her.

"Can i help you with that?"he asked her, almost laughing, pointing to the suitcase.

"Oh yes sure, please do!"she simply replied just to relief herself from the loads;no side thoughts.

He took the suitcase from her and found that it was quite heavy. Funny how she thought she could manage both this and the mattress, he smiled within him.
Alex and Christabel are two different people. Alex the son of Williams and Bella—only son of a business tycoon. He had worked for his Father for a couple of years between School and coming to London, he wasn't mad keen on rejoining his dad full-time in the family firm-he'd wanted to make his own mark on the world. But right in school he would boast based on his family status....
Much to Christabel's relief, at that moment Mabel appeared and grasped Alex's arm. Her relief was short-lived.

"OMG Oh-My-God!"she exclaimed with eyes wide open, one minute she would glance at Alex and then at Christabel in total astonishment.
Mabel was Christabel's bosom friend. She has this flair for Alex and his friends that whenever she sees them, she just seem to cant control herself—she freaks out.

"Great Mabel-you are here....she was cut off by Mabel's tiny high pitch voice, her eyes all over Alex.

" Christy!! this is the one and only Alexander Williams of our school. Wait, You-Alex Wow!! You never told me you spoke to him already"

"We only just met some weeks....

"Some weeks...some weeks laying emphasis on the weeks, and you never told me he is your friend already, you never told me anything". She gave her friend a quick glance that said 'explanations..later'.

But she only ignored her."Anyway, Alex let me introduce you to my friend–Mabel, forgive her manners.... Mabel cuts her off yet again, making a quick turn at Alex.

"I know you, sure!who in this school doesn't know you! I've always been your number one fan" Christabel couldn't help but stood and watched her friend behaving all weird like an insane woman. "It is you Alexander Williams" she queried in mock surprise." The school's golden-boy,the one i have been wanting to speak with right from first year". Holding out her hand, she added,"Mabel Richards...great to finally get to talk with you". She tried to act matured and in control but definitely-she wasn't. Alex took the offered hand, "The pleasure is all mine" he responded briefly, and let his dark gaze drop to Christabel who looked to be at sixes and sevens.

"I've got my car here, can i take you home please?"he asked slowly with a pleading note in his voice afraid she might refuse.

"I wouldn't want to bother you. Thanks for the offer anyway" she smiled at him, shaking her head in refusal.

"Oh please,it's no bother,i would really love to,please let me...

"Seriously, Christy! as that's the way she called her — Alex i believe what she actually wanted to say was she is okaaaayyy with it" Mabel said blithely, speaking for Christabel. "It's really painful i wont be joining you guys, i really really wish i could but all the same, you guys should have fun". Now to Alex "I would really love to speak with you again. Gosh--am so happy". She said the last statement more like she had whisper-shouted.

"...have fun?" Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. She hoped she never understood what Mabel meant by that.
