Chapter One

In school the rage was the news that Chloe Lukasiak, former it girl, had been spotted at the local airport. She had left about a year ago for, boarding school? And she didn't tell anybody. Not even her best friend.
And it hurt to say the least. That day I called her home phone after she hadn't shown up to school, and had to listen to her mother say, "She didn't tell you?" I was heart broken. What's a best friend if she didn't tell you she was moving away?
But tonight was my mothers party, and I can't ruin my mood. Reporters will be there, and the whole school. I simply can't let my mother, or anybody down so I have to be there. And I have to be prepared.
I met up with my boyfriend, Brandon, and shared a peck with him. "Did you hear Chloe's back in town?" He asked excitedly. "Yep." I replied briskly and gave him a sickly smile. "So, are you coming to my mothers party tonight?" My voice trailed off. "Of course"!" He quickly replied and pecked me on the lips. I smiled, satisfied. I walked off, leaving him in the dust. That was part of my duty as it girl. I have to keep him in suspense and keep him wanting more.
"Madison, Madison!" One of my followers, Kendall, shouted to me. "Girls. Got any gossip?" I smirked. "Besides Chloe? No." Another one of my followers, Nia, sighed. "Girls! This is not enough! Get me anything you can find! Even if you have to make it up." I commanded. They nodded their heads and scurried off to find more gossip.
First period bell rang and everyone rushed to class, but I took my time. That way you can spy on people, find couples making out under the stairway, and just plain gossip. But there was nothing today and I trudged on into my first class. "Ms Ziegler, can you explain to the class why you were late?" My first teacher, Mrs Formicella, boomed. I gave her a sickly smile. "Joshua Hyland was bulling me!" Lies. Total Lies. But if I could get Joshua out if my hands for a few days then so be it. He would be suspended and then come back as a total loser, no matter how popular he was. I had done it several times before and have a lot of experience.
The day flew by and before I knew it I was stepping into my private limo, satisfied.
Tonight was the party and it will be hot. Me on the front cover of Teen Vouge, paparazzi following me everywhere. That's how it always is.
So I changed into my designer dress and new heels as I waited for Kendall to come over and help me with my makeup.
"It needs to be perfect!" I exclaim as she pulls out all the makeup she has, and that is a LOT. She sighs and starts on my foundation as my phone rings. I pull my blackberry out of my bag and press answer. "Brandon!" I squeal as he says hello. "Hey Ziegler" He says and I can tell he's smirking. "I was just wondering what color your dress is so my tie can match." I smile. "A princess never tells the color of her gown." He sighs and hangs up, defeated. "I won't tell him it's blue." Kendall smiles. I smile back. "Kendall, you are my new best friend. I don't need Chloe anymore."
