Amos drove Alexis to the hospital and laid her down on one of the hospital beds, pushing it quickly with the other doctors into theatre then joined the others in the Waiting room.

“Now do you believe me?” he said angrily, throwing a glass across the room, it shattered against the wall in a waterfall of glass, and then Amos spun and slammed his hands down on the granite surface tops of the accountants desk. His whole body shook with adrenaline and anger, as well as fear. Lizzie and Brooklynn stood their, awkwardly standing and     watching from a distance. Ryan had been called into work to interview a new police officer, so he had had to leave.

Eventually, Lizzie plucked up enough courage to go over to Amos. She placed her hand on his shoulder, but he flinched away.

“Amos, I know I can’t even imagine what your going through right now, or what you went through tonight, but you saved her life. That’s all that matters now. She’s alive.” She tried to comfort him. He turned to face her, sadness etched into every feature on his face.

“But she died. She heart stopped. She was attacked and I wasn’t there to stop him. And as a result she got two broken ribs, possible internal bleeding and a fractured nose.” He said angrily, but his voice was tinged with sadness as well.

“None of that’s on you, Amos. It’s not your fault that you were attacked by the brother hood and that bit Alina Ivanov. If you hadn’t left her side where you thought she would be safe, then a lot more innocent people would have died tonight.” Brooklynn added.

“But she died, and that’s on me. I am sworn to keep her and the rest of the public safe, and tonight I failed my job.” He walked out of the room and stood in the viewing area of the operation room, behind the mirrored glass.

He had stood behind mirrored glass hundreds of times before, before going into the interrogation room, but this time it seemed sinister. As if it didn’t want him to get to his girlfriend. He felt worthless and unneeded. What sort of cop was he if he couldn’t even keep his girlfriend safe? How could people trust that he was going to be there to keep them safe when things like this happen? “If I was the public, I wouldn’t trust someone like me.He thought to himself as the doctors finished putting in the metal plates/pins into her ribs, and stitching up the wound inside her small intestine. They bandaged her up and strapped up her nose and they moved her into recovery. He followed them into her recovery room and sat down next to her, holding her hand in his, soothingly rubbing his thumbs over the top of her hand.

“im sorry, i’m so, so sorry.” He whispered to her unconscious body. “I should have staid with you. I could have stopped this happening to you, but I misjudged how smart these terrorists are. I thought that they were only the one’s there. Those morons are more cunning yet idiotic than I thought. Because if they new me, then I will not rest until I kill every last one of them and wipe out all of there leaders.” Alexis moaned slightly as she moved her head and arm, but stayed asleep.

Lizzie and Brooklynn stood outside, overlooking the young couple when Amos’s sister Jennifer Bercovich arrived at the hospital.

“How are they?” Jennifer asked Lizzie as she ran over, pity in her eyes as she looked in to the room to see her brothers body leaning forward towards Alexis, still caressing her hand.

“He’s pretty distressed and pissed off, but also pretty scared. He saved Alexis’s life, literally. Her hart stopped.” Lizzie updated Jennifer “and for Alexis, she’s lucky to be alive. She had internal bleeding, two broken ribs, and a fractured nose.”

“Oh.” Was the only response she got from the teenage girl, who had wrapped her arms around her slim waist, as if she was in pain.

“Are you alright, jen?” Lizzie asked the young blonde.

“Yeah, I just tripped and fell against a railing, it fine though.” Jennifer tried to reassure Lizzie, but a sudden rush of pain went through her weak body. Her face contorted in pain and she was sent to her knees.

“Yeah, right.” Lizzie commented, sarcastically to the 19 year old. “Let me look.”

Jennifer managed to get to her feet, though she was still bent double and hugging her body. Lizzie led her to a abandoned store room and got her to sit on the table in there. From there she progressed to remove the girls jacket and shirt.

What Lizzie saw shocking. Jennifer’s pale skin was covered in bruise’s, as if she had been repeatedly punched in the ribs, in the arms, in the stomach and she even saw more bruise’s leading down towards where her skirt was.

“That’s some railing you fell on.” Lizzie commented. “What the hell happened to you, Jen?” That’s when she began to cry. Loud sobs echoed around the room and tears rolled down her cheeks. Lizzie embraced the child in a warm embrace, mentally trying to work out what had happened to her. Was it the work of the man who so desperately wanted to hurt Amos so bad? Did he get his goons to beat the defenceless child? Or was it something/ someone else?

That’s when she noticed a strange mark around Jennifer’s wrists and saw an identical pair of marks on her ankles. The marks looked like the pattern mark makes. But if she was beaten up, why would they need rope? Jennifer was too weak to stop them punching and kicking them. It would be quicker for them to just beat her than tie her up first… unless…..

Lizzie folded down the hem of Jennifer’s skirt and saw a massive foot sized bruise, but also saw a bit of dried blood.

“Oh Jen… I’m so sorry…” Lizzie whispered to the teen as she embraced her once again. “Who did this to you?”

“There… There were 8 of them. They punched and kicked me for over 2 hours.” Jennifer spluttered in between sobs. “Then they tied me down onto a bed, my legs were tied apart and my hands were tied above my head. Then a cloth and a blind fold were put over my face and I blanked out. After that all I remember is a heavy weight on my body and a immense pain. Please, Promise you won’t tell my brother?” Jennifer pleaded. Lizzie was hesitant, but reluctantly agreed. Jennifer said that Amos was already hurt enough about Alexis, let alone with her being raped as well.

Lizzie helped Jennifer get dressed again and helped her out of the room. She told Brooklynn that she was going to be driving Jennifer back to Amos’s condo and left the hospital. Lizzie lowered Jennifer into the back seat of her car and pulled out of the car park. They reached the Condo a little after 18:00 and Lizzie carried Jennifer out of the car and laid her down on Amos’s bed. She rolled up Jennifer’s shirt again and got a wet cloth and started to remove the grime and blood from her battered body. Then she explained that she needed to assess if there was any serious damage or if it was just bruises. She started to prod Jennifer’s belly and arms, trying to find the places where it hurt the most and were it hurt the least. it seemed that they mostly aimed at Jennifer’s chest and upper stomach as to wind her and hurt her but not to seriously damage her fragile body, because when Lizzie pushed down into Jennifer’s belly bellow her belly button she got no reaction than a slight moan and a barely audible ‘oof’, yet with the slightest touch to her upper stomach and chest Jennifer screamed and writhed on the bed. Lizzie also made Jen take a pregnancy test and rape test, just to make sure she wasn’t going to get pregnant.

“Thank god for that.” Lizzie said as she read the reading on the pregnancy test. It was negative. “The good news is that your not pregnant. The bad news is that you were raped and your body is going to hurt for a long time by the way you reacted just then. Get some rest.” Lizzie stood up and left the room, allowing Jennifer to get some sleep.
