"Aayla, come here," a voice echoed throughout the abyss. "Aayla, please, I can save you. I may seem bad, but you have to trust me, not your instincts."

"Aayla?" A voice snapped me out of my dreams. Brenden. What time was it? It had to be so early.. "Aayla.." he whispered very softly. His voice was trembling a bit. "I-it's time.."

The events from yesterday flashed into my mind.

Our parents didn't notice us leaving, they were too busy sleeping. I should be happy that they didn't notice us, because our minds would just get changed. I'm not though, since it's pretty bad that they could sleep so easily after what happened yesterday. It took me hours to fall asleep. Brenden and I's sandals made our footsteps quiet across the hard, dirt ground. Plenty of others were walking the streets along with us. I wonder if they knew what they were getting into. I sure didn't, this wasn't even the destiny I wanted. It'd be wrong for me to just leave Brenden, though..

A man with bright yellow hair, not blonde, bright yellow, and a booming voice was shouting happily and boarding people onto luxury buses. They sure chose people that would stand out to recruit people to join clans. My brother and I got in line, which moved very fast. I saw a girl get on the bus and her mother screaming and crying, as if her heart was being ripped from her body each step the girl took. A tall man with long, dark girlish hair asked us our names and ages, took a few notes, and gestured for us to load the bus. It was huge and had 4 stories on a bus. I wondered what would happen if we were to get in an accident. That's unlikely though, since nobody in Barder can afford luxury vehicles. Actually, nobody in colonies really has anything like that. We travel on foot. All the money really goes to the militaries. Brenden and I took a seat on the 3rd story of the bus. There were 3 sections in each large seat, so another person would be joining us eventually.

It all seemed unreal to me. I was half awake, and there was a chance I might be still dreaming. I wasn't nervous or scared, I didn't feel anything. It was weird. I misewell have been sleepwalking. Neither Brenden or I spoke a word to eachother. Eventually, a short sickly looking boy sat next to us. He had medium-length pumpkin colored hair. The boy gave me a half smile of sympathy, and lay back to rest his eyes. He never said one word, nor introduced himself to us. The bus was silent.

"There is no turning back. Stay seated, and be prepared. Fighting is not tolerated, nor is chatter. You're all unpromised soldiers from this point on. Once we arrive at the recruitment building, exit the carrier in an orderly fashion. No pushing, no shoving. Form a single file line when exiting the bus, and stay that way whilst in the building. Inside, you'll walk forward, and the line will seperate into two lines. One will go right to the clan try outs. When you go right, please keep on forward glancing side to side to see the signs of which clan try outs is where. If the sign reads 'Xeo Legion' and you want to try out for Xeo Legion, please formally step out from the line and go inside the door where the try outs are. Each clan has their own rules and system for try outs, some will make you take a simple test of intelligence. Some will make you shoot a gun and test your accuracy. Some will fight to the death, and some may just accept you without any test. If you are denied, you may try out for another military, or exit the building, come back in, and  go left this time. For those that go to the left side, they will enter the other section of the building. It is a training center you may enroll in for free. I highly recommend you do so instead of going right and trying out for a clan right away, since you need to be skilled if you want to make out well. That is all." A speaker on the bus announced. "One more thing, if you do ignore any of these simple rules, we have no problem with disposing some of you." That sent shivers down my spine.

The first hour on the bus everything was silent. And then it happened.
