Chapter 9:

5/30/15 Jihoon's pov  

"Let's go." Daniel grabbed my hand and ran out of the door. The servants who were standing by the bed were now running towards us. 

"Daniel, they're coming towa-"

"I know. Stay back." Daniel took out his sword and slashed the sword through the servants' bodies. I let out a small scream.

"Don't scream. Its only a matter of time until they find out." Daniel clasped his hands around my mouth . 

"I did it for a reason, Jihoon. Not just because I was mad. Don't worry. I'll take the blame for everything so you don't have to worry have to do anything." Daniel whispered.

"Let's get out of here. I'll explain you my reason as we walk towards our next trial.'

"What do you mean it was planned?"  I asked, eh more like shouted, but that's not important. 

"Lower your fucking voice." Daniel whispered.

"Oops, sorry." I said, immediately lowering my voice.

"Before you were even assigned to me, I was planning on to kill her for a long time." 

"Why?"

Daniel sighed.

"Before I explain to you what the reason is, you need to understand how reapers and judges are chosen in the underworld."  Daniel said.

"Wait they're chosen? By who?" I asked.

"Sir Lucifer. People don't just born to be reapers or judges. Sir Lucifer chooses them from the alienists." 

"What? Why from the alienists? I thought those people were the bad ones." 

"That's exactly why Sir Lucifer chooses the judges and the reapers from the alienists." 

I looked at Daniel, extremely confused.

"You see, when you're either a judge or a reaper, you need to be able set your feeling aside from your job. Alienists, who are known to have no empathy for others, are the perfect option for judge and reapers. Sir Lucifer chooses one of alienists and change them into reapers or judges." Daniel explained.

"Wait so you're an alienist?" I asked.

Daniel nodded.

"What did you do?" 

"I killed about 10 people." Daniel said calmly.

I felt my body tense up after Daniel finished his sentence.

"..Why..?" I asked carefully. I had been scared of Daniel since I met, but now I was terrified of him. What if he just has an anger attack out of no where and start attacking me right now? That's what he did like 5 minutes ago.

"I'm not going to hurt you Jihoon. I don't just kill people for no reason." Daniel assured me as if he could read my thoughts.

"The reason why I killed 10 people will be a story for another time. Right now, I'll tell you why I killed Lady Cliodhna, or just Cliodhna now I guess."  Daniel paused.

"Do you remember about what I told you about sinners?" Daniel asked.

"They're the ones who take care of the alienists, right?"
