I start my morning off with some nice, hot tea, and a piece of slightly overdone toast. Basically what I live off of, besides ramen noodles and soda. I hear a knock on my door. I set down my toast, taking one more bite before walking to the door. I peer through the window on the door, but I'm unable to make out any details. Here goes.
I open the door. Before me stands a girl seemingly my age, quite a bit taller than me. Her skinny figure is one I'll probably never obtain. She smiles at me, and before I know it, her arms envelop me in a hug. I brush a piece of my hair behind my ear, and blush a little. "Er.. hello... may I help you?" I ask quizzically. "I'm your new roommate, of course!" She shakes my hand ecstatically. "The name's Vivi, but you can just call me V." She smiles widely, and we stand in awkward silence for a few moments. "Would you... like to come inside..?" I manage to stutter. She simply grins at me and walks inside, her bright pink compact suitcase trailing behind her.
I lead her down the hall to the room that's next to mine, and open the door. "Here's where you'll be living." I say, and give a little smile. She enters the room, blank-faced. For moment, I start to worry that she doesn't like it. As if to answer my thoughts, she suddenly twirls around and giggles. "It's perfect!" Her skirt ruffles as she walks around her new room. She flops on her bed, and sighs to herself. I stand in the doorway, and she looks at me. "So, who are you?" She says, and motions me over. I walk over to her bed, and sit down. It's very high, and I struggle to get on. (Short people problems, am I right?) She laughs. "Aw... Short people are so cute!" I growl, but then laugh along. "My name's Raechel. Today's my birthday, and I'm now twenty-three." I didn't feel well enough to tell her about me being pan, though.
"Well if that's the case, Raechel, then we gotta go out!" She exclaims. "Except for the fact that I'm nearly broke.." I say. "No worries! I got this covered."
