alicia sanchez felt normal, her heart beat, normal, lungs, normal, legs — so normal ! until, she got a call — the call that made her fall to the ground like she had already been shot.
she had breast cancer.
maybe it was because she was healthy and normal in her mind that alicia hung up the phone and laughed it off, or the fear.
she didn't know anymore.
when the first treatment came in and was paid for she already knew that her money wasn't fit to still live in a big house — it had drained her from not only her soul, but the money she had left in her pockets. so, she moved into an apartment.
that had a cuban family who were welcoming.
and a man who seemed to be a weirdo at first but then became her best friend.
