Gumi x Lily

A/N: Much sooner than I promised, but I hope this suffices. It's rather, well, vague.

Unlike what most people seem to think, Lily is by far the least outspoken of the group. If anything, Gumi feels she speaks more for the girl than she speaks for herself. It's become routine for her to translate the little things about Lily into words everyone can understand. Whether or not this is a special thing meant for Gumi's database specifically, it's a skill she finds to be much more rewarding than her capacity for singing.

Who else can tell when Lily is tired or hungry from the way her gaze hovers a fraction longer than it should? Who else can tell the difference between an amused and a bemused stare? Who else can tell what's a lie before it manages to leave her lips? No one. It's Gumi who has to do that on her own.

But of course, one person can only do so much.

"Hey, Lily!" Gumi chirps. "Whatcha up to?"

Lily shrugs, throwing down the music sheets she'd been studying for the last hour. Her sigh says enough for the other girl.

"If you're tired," Gumi flops onto the opposite end of the couch, "you can always put it off for tomorrow. I know it's not due until next week. That's a lot of time to practice and rest in between."

"I want it over with."

"And you'll get it over it with," a pause, "after you take a break!"

The blonde groans, but doesn't push her point further.

Gumi raises a brow. "What's holding you up?"

Glancing away with a light blush, Lily murmurs incoherently under her breath, prompting Gumi to lean in.

"What was that?" she presses.

"Never mind. I'm fine."

It goes on like that for the next few days to come with Lily looking more and more frustrated each encounter. Some of the vocaloids, even Miku herself, start to question Gumi about it, but she waves them off with the flimsy excuse of a 'block' in Lily's creative spirit. Half take it and the others doubt it. But, well, not even Gumi knows what's wrong.

During some night after the original incident, she wakes from an unintentional nap on the couch. It seems she'd conked out while reorganizing her papers. That's not the issue, though.

The most baffling thing is Lily's curled form laying across Gumi's lap. Ah, well.

They snuggle up like that for the next couple hours, happily forgetting all the things that need to be done at the time. Soon enough, it becomes a norm to relax together. It seems to resolve whatever Lily was so troubled about, though Gumi still can't figure out what it was.

Well, whatever.

As long as Lily's finally able to smile on the stage again like she always does, it doesn't matter too much. There are better things to do with her than wonder about a problem long solved.
