I still remember it like yesterday it was Jan 95 and the airports had just opened after being closed for 3 days because of the snow which was 5-7 inches. We got to dc and stayed there for a night and then on to philly. In the morning I put the telly on and there was local news about this kid shooting someone after asking for money. It was very close to where the school was and it made me think was a little concerned at first and then it just went away. A lot like we go through our other troubles in life (loosing loved ones, family, old age) and after a while just move on. It was just a way of life people just probably got used to it.
The two extreme parallels were clearly visible in the geographic inequalities. The college Philadelphia college of textiles was in a beautiful suburban location green trees everywhere nice clean streets the campus was all green with architecture dating back to the 1890s when it was built. It was like a college in a park literally. But across the street not even a mile away was a proper good Germantown a rough area with run down shops. Despair everywhere. So close we're the two worlds that it was like being morphed into two worlds when you would cross over. Life moved so fast college, friends, classes, library and weekends that I never stopped and ever thought why there were such differences and well being in two such residential areas so close. The more I've seen the world through my eyes I've realised the reason for this disproportion is two fold one is the existence of fears of understanding the hate and unwanted ness people of certain colour go through and Guns
