Isle of flightless birds

I went through the day feeling pretty pleased with myself for what I did. Normally I would just avoid someone until they forget whatever I did or wanted to ask me. His friends asked me if I was dating him and I said calmly, " No I'm Not. He upset me." They would nod and walk away. He gave me sideways looks all day, I didn't care. I also told basically everyone that I was being adopted on June 19th everyone was really happy for me. During lunch, Elaina, Elliana, Elijah and I were all fangirling/fanboying. It was great. "We should camp out there and get close spots!" I said. " yes omg, Elijah, Charlotte, do you guys have a 4 person tent?" " I do!" I said while raising my hand. "Wait what about your mom?" Elijah asked Elliana. "I've looked at the venue entry and the parking spots are right next to the sidewalk where we would camp out, so we just need to get a parking spot close to the place we want to camp. Simple" Elaina said. The lights flickered and it was time to go to our 5th class. I had study hall downstairs so I went upstairs to grab my bag in my locker. You should see us running up the stairs after lunch. We look like a herd of crazy different types of animals. Adison and I walked to the stairs. She stayed upstairs to go to health and I went downstairs. I'm always paranoid about being late so I run/fast walk to my study hall. I went to my normal seat and got out my Chromebook with my earbuds. I also got out my fanfic notebook. I wrote about my friends and I going to Camp half-blood and meeting our favorite book characters. When the bell rang I ran out and went up to science class, one of my favorite classes. My teacher had us watch an experiment about frequency waves. It was pretty simple. He had one student hold one end of a rope. And he holds the other side. My teacher moved the rope up and down and that represented sound waves. Then, just to mess with our brains, he had us clap and said that we feel our other hand before hearing the clap sound. We just kept clapping and acting really confused. I then went to history and then Home ec. I really love going to home ec, today we got to make rice crispy treats without an oven. (A/N: this is a real recipe if you wanna try)
-take a stick of butter and put it in a hot pot on low
-after the butter melts put an entire bag of mini marshmallows in the pot and keep stirring
-when the marshmallows have turned to fluff, take it off the burner
-have a big bowl ready and using a wooden spoon(it workers better)put the fluff in the bowl
-dump a bag of whatever cereal you want in
-make sure your hands are washed or wear gloves to avoid a mess
-kneed the cereal into the fluff
-once it pretty much even, put it onto a Pam sprayed cookie sheet
-press it down with wax paper so it cools flat
-cut it up (or don't), enjoy!
After my group made the rice crispy treats, we were given really big pieces and told to go sit back down with our food. I put mine in a paper towel and saved it for the bus. While adison edited my story, I sat and talked with Chelsea, " wait what?! Christian spread a rumor that you are a lesbian!?" I yell whispered to her. " it's not that big of a deal, really" she tried to reassure me. " yes it is..." I said. " whatever" she murmured back. The last bell of the day rang and Adi and I went upstairs.I put my Chromebook away and ran downstairs to get to the bus. Even though I know that the bus would be sitting there for another 15 minutes, I'm really paranoid about being late.after sitting on the bus for another 10 minutes, we left the high school parking lot and rode towards Hickory Street. I got off the bus to find a social worker's car in my driveway.
