It was currently 11:35 on a Friday night. Definitely not the time of day when Yuri would expect a knock on her door. Yet, there it was. Knock, knock, knock. The bangs against the door were rushed, almost panicky. She hurried to the door, making sure her sleeves covered her arms. When she opened the door she was surprised to see the girl she had just been thinking about. Natsuki.
"Natsuki? What are you-" Yuri paused, Natsuki's appearance suddenly brought to her attention. There was large gash across her cheek, and she had a bruise under her right eye, as well as other bruises on her neck. Tears streamed down her cheeks. Yuri quickly ushered her inside and lead her to the bathroom. Pulling down a first-aid kit from the wall, she asked "Natsuki, what happened?!" No response, only sniffles and sobs.
She treated the gash the best she could before Natsuki decided to speak. "M-My dad... H-He's done this before, but not this bad. It was... R-Really scary, Yuri." She showed her other fresh marks in various places which Yuri treated to as well. "I'm so sorry... Would you like to lay down?" Natsuki nodded slowly before getting up and following Yuri to her room. Yuri lead her to her bed and covered her with her duvet.
"Would you like tea?" Yuri asked, peering over at her friend. "Sure. Thank you... So much, Yuri." "Anything for you, Nat. I'm glad I could help, and I'm always here if you need me." Natsuki gave a weak but genuine smile at this as Yuri left to get tea. Natsuki pulled the comfy duvet up to her face. It smelled just like Yuri. She couldn't help but notice how great Yuri was. She was kind, smart, and... (Even though Natsuki wouldn't admit it) cute.
Yuri walked in with the tea, interrupting Natsuki's thoughts. The younger girl felt her face heat up, due to her previous thoughts. Though, Yuri didn't seem to notice. She handed Natsuki the tea. It tasted like... Rose? Lavender? She wasn't focusing on the taste but on the girl sitting a few feet away in an arm chair. "It was good. Thanks, Yuri." She gently set the cup down. "C-Could you... Lay with me? I mean, it's not like you have to! It would just be... Nice." Yuri chuckled at this before laying next to Natsuki. The smaller girl gently placed her arms around Yuri, who, surprisingly, did the same.
After a few minutes, Natsuki dozed off. Yuri couldn't help but notice how cute she looked. She gently pressed a kiss against her head before falling asleep to the sound of her friend's soft breathing.
