Diary Entry 10It was beautiful. The garden wasn't how it was. In the beginning, it was infested with virus and things that shouldn't be alive. To my surprise, Israel did something nice for me. Quite rare to be honest. He usually just takes advantage of me. I do mind, but I just know that someday... someday he'll make me proud.
Anywho, I quickly dug in my closet for the perfect outfit. Today is the day I get my third job! For some other information, I've had several other jobs. The first one was a minimum wage employee at McGonalds and a good thing as a babysitter. Unfortunately, I got fired for looking "immature". Now I'm applying at a bubble tea and sweet shop known as Sugar Overdose Café.
As I leave out of my somewhat large house and into the cruel world we live in. It was a nice day too with partly clouds all around. Actually, for once I think my outfit is on point! Today I am wearing a mint sweater and lavender shorts, just above my knees too. My pink hair wrapped loosely in a bun, strands of hair falling in my face. For once I had my red Perry Otter glasses on that would probably empathize my green eyes.
Taking a look around the town is full of life and different species. There were; Meifwa, Alchemists(what I am), faeries, Horned Lumni, Wyverns, Elven creatures, Werewolves, Halflings, Demons, and humans of course. Although that's just the start of it. Although some didn't quite get along with other races due to stereotypes and customs. Alchemists don't get along with the Meifwa because of rivalries in magic. Faeries highly dislike humans with them always trying to use them as lanterns within the darkness. And... actually, that's pretty much all I know so far.
Still trying to find a way to Sugar Overdose Café, sadly I think I'm lost. I feel like I should've been there by now. Asking someone would be a smart idea but do I honestly want to deal with that? Well, I kinda have to. In the distance I see a slightly shorter than average werewolf, probably an omega. Approaching them, I took notice of their toffee hair and gold eyes.
"Oh.. Hello! I'm Alchemist Circe and.. do you know where Sugar Overdose Café is?" My voice was higher than usual. They turned around completely, one eye was missing. The skin was closed around it though. "Hiya ma'am! If you need some help getting around I don't actually know..." He scratched the back of his neck. "But my name is Oz. Nice to meet'cha Circe!" He held out his hand for me to shake. His giant hand swallowed mine completely.
"So you need to get to Sugar Overdose?"
"Yes!" I said brightly.
"In your own luck, I'm looking for that place too. Wanna try and find our way together?"
I nodded my head and Oz had grabbed my wrist and ran. For an omega he was pretty fast. He had dragged me across the sidewalk my shoes almost falling off completly. I bet it looked like a werewolf and a human girl trying to get somewhere or running from the cops. I kinda laughed to myself as my feet skid on the concrete.
As soon as my legs got used to his patterns of constant turning we suddenly came to a stop. "Oz, are we here?" I asked silently. "Yeah," he let go of my wrist and opened the door for me. Going in I noticed the very pastel purple and mint color scheme. "Hello! Me and my friend are applying to work here. May we?" In my head I knew this wasn't how it was supposed go. We were going to have a interview and a background check. But Sugar Overdose didn't do that I guess.
"Oh then, follow me. There's a girl in the back that'll be introduce you to and y'all settled in." They had more of a southern twang to their voice. The creature walked us to the back and then left. Infont of us, there was a female saytr with light grey fur. Her green horns went straight up into a spiral, light brown eyes, box braids were pulled back into a high bun.
"What made you want to work here?" She said completly out of no where. Oz tried to say something but learning bits of his personality I don't want him to say something dumb. "We just need to..." At first I didn't know what to say. "Get money." He glared silently at my words. "I see. Well you don't need any proper uniforms to work here but take this." She handed us me a mint apron and Oz a darker green variation. "These are practically your uniforms. Don't loose but feel free to add anything to it."
I laced up my outfit and went out to the front counter. "By the way, my name is Gretel." She said smoothly. "Don't even think about that dumb Hansel and Gretel fairytale." Her voice was oddly sarcastic and kinda hard to detect other emotions.
A customer with a inky black skin and a large skull on its head came up to me. They were also about a head and a half taller than me and really intimidating. I look to my left briefly and see Oz handling it easily. If he could do it, I can.
"Hello! May I take your order?" I put up a fake persona.
"Hi ma'am, may I have a Roserade Tea Swirl?"
Gretel was mouthing words, telling me to say this;
"What shall I put you down as." I picked up a cup like everyone else does here with a nearby marker. The customers name was something called Selene or Revene. Actually its Revene. What they owed was 11.48. Luckly, from working at past jobs I knew how to calculate the cost. They gave me a twenty and I gave back the exact change. Turning back to look at her, she was gone. Already up and moving to make that Roserade thing-a-ma-bob.* 。 • ˚ ˚ ˛ ˚ ˛ • 。* 。° 。* 。 • ˚* 。* 。 • ˚ ˚ ˛ ˚ ˛ • 。
When my first day was over, Oz kinda showed me around the town since Asrael was too protective of me. He looked at me then spoke, "Wanna try something new?" At first I didn't know what he meant so I just put a thumbs up. He suddenly grabbed my hand and took me to a back alley. "Uh.. what the heck are you planning." He just smiled brightly when he jumped up on a dumpster and climbed up a wall. He was expecting me to follow.
Giving in to pressure, I joined him. As soon as I got up there he started running. But why? There was a big gapping hole upahead. "Oz, watch out-!" He jumped over it then turned back around, giving me a singnal to come on. The adrenaline in my heart started quickly as I broke into a sprint. As I sped up, my mind started racing. It was just a hop, skip, and a jump. No need to pay attention to the.. large drop.... right there. Right then and there, the ground disappeared instantly. My legs and arms flailed until the ground met my feet once again.
There in front Oz was still smiling. "You did it, congrats." This time I felt that I wanted to beat him at his own game. My legs started running again. "Circe! You might wanna let me do this first." He shouted. Jumping across another rooftop, the buildings got more narrow by minute. Until there wasn't anymore buildings and I came to a rough stop. I turn around to see Oz behind me, "What happens now?"
