Chapter 12: You're So Hot
Cole:
"So, we're not going to the party?" Matt asked as Cole drove with concentration.
"We need to find Melanie and Molly," Cole told him with frustration.
"Come on, they're not going anywhere. That girl sounded hot," Matt exasperated. After Cole told him about the brunette that approached him earlier, Matt begged for them to go.
"Molly's on the move, we have to get to her," Cole said, not moving his eyes on the road.
"Let's just check out the party first. Twenty minutes," Matt suggested, trying to convince him. Cole turned to him when they reached a stoplight, Matt wiggled his eyebrows and smirked. Cole burst out laughing.
"Ten minutes."
"Twenty."
"Fifteen."
"Twenty-five."
"Fine." Cole shook his head, finding the address, and handed it to Matt for him to Google Map it. With ease, Cole found the party. It was on a beach, people holding red solo cups in their hands and guys doing keg stands. Molly wouldn't be here, but she's with Melanie. Cole shook his head of his thoughts. Both boys got out of the car. Approaching the beach, he searched for the girl.
"If this isn't the right party, we're leaving," Cole told Matt.
"We're staying," Matt said. He took a red cup near the keg and gulped it.
Cole saw the brunette. She wobbled on her feet, her hair messed, chatting to some blonde guy. He shook his head and looked around. "Where is she?" Five minutes in, two girls offered him a drink. He declined, searched for Matt; he was making out with some redhead. "Oh my God," Cole muttered to himself and sat on the sand near the water. Staring at the ocean, he thought back to when he first saw Molly at school, how beautiful she looked with her hair down to her shoulders, the way she smiled.
Cole figured she could be one date material. As he got to know her, he realized that he wanted to be with her all the time, to know how her day was going, what were her goals in life. The first one to say 'I love you.' He thought that she would run away about not being ready. Jumping on his body and kissing him, she said those three words back. Cole didn't want to give up on this, on them. The girl from Wal Mart flopped next to him, interrupting his wallowing. She slurred a hi, he nodded curtly at her. She tried to flirt, brushing her fingers on his muscles. He didn't move, unfazed.
"You're so hot." Her beer breath blew in his face. Leaning in to kiss him, she passed out face first on his lap. Cole eased her off his body. He got up from the sand to look for Matt. He saw him with the same girl on top of her. Cole pulled and dragged him off her.
"Hey!" The girl yelled at them.
"We're leaving," Cole informed Matt.
"But I was just getting started with that girl," Matt pointed to the girl behind them as they walked away.
"I don't care, we have to find Molly."
"Ugh! Cole, we're here to have fun.: Matt dug his heels in the sand, stopping Cole's actions, "she doesn't want you to find her. Why are you wasting your time?"
"I didn't force you to come with me."
"I came because I'm on fucking spring break! Booze and boobs! I'm supporting your dumbass on finding your ex, not you bitching about it."
"Screw you, asshat."
"I'm just telling it like it is. You did wrong."
"I know, which is why I'm trying to fucking fix it!" Cole stormed off on his way to the car.
Entering the driver's seat, Cole closed it shut. Hitting the dashboard repeatedly, he exhaled and laid his head on the headrest. The passenger side door opened up, Matt came inside. "Sorry, I'm just sleep-deprived," Matt apologized
"I know you want to have fun, I do too. We still can. I just want to talk to her. When we get on the right track, I can find her," Cole explained.
"You mean if," Matt stated in a joking tone. Cole glared at him but smiled Starting the car, Cole drove off to the road, Matt searched on his Twitter and Facebook feed for any new pics of Molly and Melanie.
