After agreeing on the fair, everything became awkwardly silent.

Jerry and I finished our meal and Candy took our plates. "Would you like to have any dessert or is that all for today?" she said.

Jerry said no, but I, however, seized the opportunity to go all out on a free meal. "Yes," I said, leaning towards him. "Can I see the dessert menu, please?"

Jerry slipped at me a curious glance. "I thought you were full? Where does it go?"

I shrugged.

"It pleases me to see you happy, Leila."

Jerry had his way with words. Something simple as that had my cheeks burning with shyness. Why did he have to have a smile like that? I stood. "Order my dessert. I trust you to make a decent choice."

Jerry's brows knitted. "Is everything ok?"

"I need to use the bathroom."

"Ok."

I pushed the single door marked Loo and stopped when the scent of eucalyptus hit me. It smelled awesome as if I were in a spa.

The gold and white fixtures reminded me of a celebrity's mansion. I didn't really want to pee, but I had to get rid of the throb between my legs. After hovering the throne for about three minutes, it disappeared.

Ever since Luke and I got engaged, sex had been rare. And now that Jerry came along, my body couldn't get enough of the excitement. It was as if I was nineteen again. I changed my tampon, happy for the light flow, and flushed the toilet.

When I returned, a slice of iced chocolate cake, a mini tub of vanilla ice cream, and a strawberry smoothie decorated the table.

I cringed. "What the hell?" I probably gained five pounds from watching it. "Are you trying to get me fat?"

Jerry laughed so hard, a couple of guests turned in our direction. "No, but I couldn't decide so I bought the top three recommended by the waiter."

I eyed the chocolate cake. "I... I still can't eat all of this. You're helping me, right?"

"Yeah, we can have it bagged and enjoy it by your place."

"Ha-ha," I smirked. "Nice try."

"Well, you can take it home, have some, and I'll come back another time to help you finish it."

I eyed the cake again. "Um, okay..."

I tried to finish the smoothie while Jerry paid the bill, but when he returned, I couldn't make it below half. My stomach gurgled like a sewer and if I drank anymore, I would puke on the floor.

Jerry gave me a once over, "Are you okay?"

A yawn escaped me and I pushed the smoothie away. "Yeah, just a bit winded."

He offered his hand and I took it, letting him lead me out of the cafe.

By the time I got home, my body dragged as if I took a ton of sleeping pills. I didn't even know how I made it home without falling off his bike. "Thanks for the meal," I drawled, "much appreciated."

I yawned again.

"No problem. I'll let you know what time to get ready for, tomorrow," he said, walking back to his bike.

"Ok."

I closed the door and kicked off my shoes, pulling my dress off. But as I headed to the bathroom in my underwear, my front door rattled.

"Leila? It's Jerry."

God... what now? I pulled a towel and dragged to the door, opening it about half a feet. "Yes?" I peeped.
