♤Jerome's POV♤
It felt like forever that i cradled the broken angel that is mitch. He was so fragil i was almost scared that if i touched him wrong he would shatter, he would shatter like the pretty porcelain dolls my baby sister used to play with. He was pale from being hemmed up in the castle for so long, his wings appeared to be splattered in blood but when touched were dry and soft.  dark circles hun under his puffy red eyes and scars scattered his pretty face. his hair was knotted and matted with blood in some places, as I observed him I made a realization that this was only what I could see. what else had that cruel man done to him? I put my hand under his chin and forced him to look at me."you know even with all these marks you are still pretty...." I stopped a thought for a second after saying that "its hard to explain to you how pretty you are even though you are covered in marks.... its the kind of pretty few people can see" I smiled softly at him as tears welled up in his eyes again. "t-thank y-you biggums. I needed that" he whispered softy into my fur. "nothing will ever hurt you again" I mumbled as I rocked his crying form slowly. a cough caught my attention and caused me to look up at Lachlan and vikk, may I note that Lachlan had a death hold on vikk. (a/n this is the first chapter I have every wrote on  computer and I'm dying of laughter XD it couldn't comprehend what biggums meant and had a seizure over it, lol back to the storyyyy.) "we probably should be going" Lachlan stated in a quiet voice as to not scare either vikk or mitch. I nodded gently and carefully stood up, of course I was carrying mitch had to have help getting him onto my back so that we were both comfortable. "so were we going Mr. lachy dachy?" I said with a fancy voice. "I don't honestly know but for some reason I keep getting the feeling we need to head north" he said as if questioning himself the entire time. "so lets go north!" I said with a cheery voice and headed north.

We have been walking for hours when our feet finally hit soft sand. Its dark now too so i have been multitasking between carrying mitch and fighting of monsters, and lets not even mention my extreme fear of the dark! I was have a silent panick attack like i did every night. Having mitch did help soothe it a little but i still was terrified. "Lets camp at the tree line we can continue tomorrow" lachlan said sternly. Is it just me or is he taking the roll as pack father ... that thought makes me giggle makes vikky pack mother. We all sat down and didnt even bother with a fire we couldnt see well enough for a fire so we sat in the dark. The rest had long since fallen asleep and i was getting lost in the sound of mitchs quiet snores. In the distance somewere i jeard what sounded like screaming but i passed it off as a mob. (a/n this is occuring about the same time preston got really mad soooo) I refused to sleep not only because the dark scared me but i was scared the dark would take mitch away to.

The sun finally peaked over the horizon signaling morning. I let out a yawn and allowed myself to be happy for fur to cover bags. I didnt sleep well because i was always in the dark besides to rare torch id steal but they would burn out in a few hours. Well i guess better wake everyone up. "Wakey wakey sleeping beauty" i said quietly to mitch. He groaned about it but got up, i snickered quietly at the sight of lachlan cuddling vikk. I looked at mitch devilishly and grabbed one of the water pouches we had. He smirked once he realized what i was doing, i dumped that water over there heads. As i did i swear i had a heart attack, vikk shot up panicking and causing the wet lachlan to freeze solid. Whoops? Lachlan looked at the frozen parts of his body. Luckily it didnt get to his head but it was up to his shoulder and went down to his finger tips on his right arm. "Well then, its still a 8/8 would cuddle again" lachlan chuckled as vikk panicked. "I-im sorry i didnt think you would freeze... i didnt mean to hurt you" i said apologetically and looked at the ground. Why did i mess everything up so much?! I could have killed lachlan by doing that.... should i stay with them? I seem to do more harm then good.... Mitch hugging my arm pulled me from my mind. I hugged him softly and on the road we were again. Lachlan said that he would be fine and it would eventually thaw. So we walked through the desert, sometimes tripping on the over fluffed sand. After about 3 hours of walking in this stuff we came acrossed a bunch of evenly lined up cactuses. We decided to break a couple for the water they hid inside them. We ran out of water an hour ago soo we were desperate. The others started to walk again, but right as i went to leave i suddenly i what sounded like hissing lava, i slowly turned on my heels to be met by the fist of a very angry lava mob. I hit the ground screaming as the fur were he hit melted away pretty much, leaving bright red blistered skin open to the air. I curled into the fetal position and whined quietly. The others had to be far enough away by now to not be able to hear me.... i hope they protect mitch... im sorry i failed you all. I shut my eyes accepting my fate, but it never came. Instead i heard "preston! Calm down now and stop hurting the poor thing! He must have been thirsty and saw the cactuses thinking water!" A voice shouted at the lava mob.... wait preston? As in the little lava mob that im friends with? Jesus he can pack a punch. "Sorry robbie, i didnt even think he touch my babies..." preston said with a pout. Robbie? Must be rob! I struggled to sit up holding the burn on my chest. I looked up at preston, "why hello there good sir preston and madam robert" i giggled at my own words. "Hmm inteligent beast it is, it knows who the feminineone in this relationship is" he said with a smirk. "Well i am sorry to depart so soon but my madam and out companions sir lachy and madam vikky have left me sir jerome behind" i said with a smile. "Jerome!" Rob popped up from behind preston and hugged me. " long time no see jerome"  preston said with a happy tone. When rob released me i stood up, "imma go get them ill be back" i yelled as i ran off in the direction they all headed in. About 10 minutes later i finally caught up, did i mention how hot a fur coat is in the desert? Ugh. I  look at them just down the hill and i see them all sitting. Vikk and lachlan appeared to be comforting mitch.... oh no. I ran.... nevermind rolled down the sand hill yelling curses as sand got in my wound. Gonna feel that later. When i finally stopped rolling, i looked up to mitch standing over me. "Ya forgot meee" i said with a pout "also i found rob and preston, turns out the cactuses were prestons and he didnt like us touchin them" i said with a giggle and showed off my burn to them. Mitch sighed in frustration but we walked back.
♧Rob's POV♧
I turned to preston once jerome had left. "Now young man you must learn to control that fiery temper of yours" i stated sternly. He pouted in a cute way but ya know.. ugh. "Go take care of your cactuses while i prepare for guests" i yelled as i walked inside. I began preparing a small lunch for everyone, small because there was barely any food in the house. About 10 minutes after i started preparing the food jerome returned with mitch and the others. "Welcome back! Make sure you all wash you hands before eating, no preston that doesnt include you" i said this in a motherly tone cuz who else is gonna whip these boys into shape. After they washed up and we ate the sandwiches i made, we all sat around the table in silence. Not only because we didnt have mich to say but also because the silent presence of each other made everything feel peaceful. "Everyone wanna tell there stories 1 by 1 ?" Preston asked quietly as he was terrified to break the silence. "Fine i will start" sighed lachlan. And one after another a horror story always sliping past there lips as there was no good in the past 2 years. It finally got to prestons turn. We all turned to preston as he appeared to be dazing off. "Botania to preston anyone there" mitch joked. We all giggled and it got preston out of his daze so it wasnt too bad. "Well mine isnt as gory? As all yours, when i woke up in the cave i went into an anxiety attack and i couldnt comprehend anything.... i cane too inside the lab with every scientist that didnt manage to ask burnt to a crisp... i scavenged the lab of course before i left, all i found were 2 journals and a bag with 3 rocks in it i traveled to this desert and i have been here since..... havent touched the rocks since i put them away, but 1 off the rocks reacted strange to being touched but it didnt do anything after" he said all of this straight faced but you could see the pain glistening in his eyes in the form of tears. "Your turn momma rob" jerome said with a small smile. "Alrighty then well when i woke up in that cave and left i headed home like everyone would expect, i was home for a couple of days and my flower shop got burned down so i scaled the north mountain and lived there for 2 years till it all got burned down" i said sadly as i pulled the bandages off my severely burned arms and out of the corner of my eyes saw a very guilty preston. As we all sat in silence again letting each others stories set in, i was thinking of the weird rocks preston spoke of. I wonder why they reacted the way they did. "Hey preston can i read the journals you found?" I heard vikk quietly say. So i wasnt the only curious one, i thought as preston nodded and stood up. He returned a bit later with a sachel and 2 books. He set them on the table and offered the books to vikk. Vikk took them excitedly and immediatly started reading. Me on the other hand curiousity killed the cute little kitty, i opened the sachel slowly and immediatly noticed the lava coloured rock. It stood out against the the 2 normal coloured eggs, so i allowed my hand to brush against the rock and its shell developed many little flowers that scattered all over it. I gasped and scooped up the rock, for some reason i felt i needed to keep the rock safe so i held it safely tucked to my chest. Everyone but vikk(who was reading) stared in shock and wonder. (A/n i wonder what these rocks are cuz i definitly dont know XD)
☆Vikks POV☆
I read the journal forgetting about the outside world while i was at it. The book spoke of how the scientist had picked 2 of is they thought fit well to be partners in this experiment. The experiment was they artifically grew 3 creature eggs with basic genes, the point was to inject the eggs and cause them to react when there partnered 'parent' touched them. Usually the 'father' in the partnership was the first to touch the egg and then once the 'mother' touched it he/she would become extremely protective off it. This would even lead to many things as in, there body heats rising to keep the egg warm, intensified senses for protection, the need to carry the egg, and sometimes even aggression towards strangers(even if there miles away). This was fasinating but more gasps pulled my attention from the book. I looked over at lachlan and i realized at that moment these rocks were not rocks..... these things were eggs. The egg lachlan has barely touched now had a white and gold pattern on it. Thinking about it, it matched his horns and wings. Outta curiousity i looked at jerome and mitch waiting for one of them to touch the last one. Jerome stuck a single finger out and lightly tapped the egg. It immediatly changed to this brown fur like texture, that if you looked carefully enough you could make out small animals. Finally coming to the realization that me rob and mitch were supposed to be the 'mothers' i reached out and picked up the egg. Immediatly i could feel the mental change and i could tell mitch who had mimicked my action did too. There were now bright blue and red stars on the egg, while the one mitch held now had black and red checkers on some parts of it. Well i guess i get to explain this all now. Yey.

Sooo wut ya think? The eggs arent kids just so yall know XD there genetic creations that are now bonded to the 'parents' in the experiment meaning they will do anything to keep each other alive.
P.s. imma draw what the eggs look like and put the on hereeee dont worryyy
