Author's note:
I managed to update since our teachers weren't feeling excited about school today. Or I assumed they weren't at least. (Evil laugh)
ANYWAY, I've been wanting to mention that the cover isn't mine. I got it from a manhwa entitled Girls the Wild's. I just loved that photo so I decided to use it. And the girl's pretty. Too bad she's blond though.
Still waiting for comments.
Enjoy!

CHAPTER FOUR: PARIS'S CHALLENGE AND MINE
"To my house, of course." he answered, like it was so obvious.
"You've got to be joking?" I asked, incredulous.
He calmly focused on the road, his smile was gone now. He looked almost serious, if you ask me.
"No. I'm not." he said.
Looking at him, I suddenly felt like I should shut up.
Now, wait a minute...how come I'm the one looking like the bad guy here? He's the one who's been pestering me on my first day in an American school and now, he's acting like it's the other way around!
But, he did help me with Paris...Well, maybe I'll let him off the hook this time...
"So, why DIDN'T you bring your car?" I asked silently.
"Didn't feel like it." he said briefly.
Oh...he didn't feel like bringing his, so he just decides to hijack mine. Bloody great.
"That girl had done terrible things to people she didn't like." he suddenly said. "The last thing she did was closing down someone's family business. She's someone you wouldn't want to mess with."
I was a little taken aback by what he said and it took me a moment to say in agreement, "I've already figured that out."
He gave me a doubtful look but it slowly changed like he was starting to figure out everything and said, "Oh, she gave you the card."
It wasn't exactly a question but I nodded.
How come he knows about their recruitment cards?
"And you declined?" he added.
"Of course, I'd decline." I said grumpily. "The girl's a control freak! I refuse to be with someone like her at all cost."
"Well, it's a pretty heavy cost you'll soon be bearing." he said, smirking. "You're very unfortunate that of all schools in the state, you had to enroll in Marriott."
My eyebrows knitted in confusion.
"Our school isn't like any other. You must've noticed by now how strange it is that the students own branded sports cars or how the food in the cafeteria are mostly exquisite dishes or just how expensive all the students look."
I just watched him speak as everything he just mentioned were all in sync with my thoughts. Well, most of it at least.
"The school is very hierarchical. Everyone take's careful notice of their status. And status are based on each family's financial standing. The top of the pyramid consists of the student council. Some students with the highest popularity rate are considered to be equal to that of the student council but of course, most of the council members are the most popular students."
I hadn't realized we were already in front of a mall until Luke stopped the car.
"So, have you realized how stupid declining Paris's offer was?" He said, facing me with the same smirk he was wearing the whole drive.
