Ellie
When the twin's mom called up the stairs that dinner is ready an hour later, Finn runs - literally runs- down the stairs ahead of us to get a "front row seat" to his mom seeing me with Kit. Finn Kennedy makes me roll my eyes more than anyone I have ever met.
The three of us have been hanging out in the den while their mom has been cooking dinner for the past hour, completely unaware of the fact that I am in her house. I could tell that Kit was nervous, and I asked him multiple times if he is sure about this, to which he said yes every time.
At the top of the stairs he reaches for my hand, pulling me back and out of view from anyone that looked up the stairs. I look into his eyes, watching them look back at me as he tries to figure out what he wants to say or do. Just like Kit and Finn have a form of silent communication, I feel like Kit and I are developing one of our own.
I squeeze his hand, "Kit, it'll be fine. Remember, I have crazy parents too."
"I just don't want you to hear something I haven't gotten the chance to tell you myself and-"
I kiss him. I cut off his words by putting my lips on his, and I can actually feel him relax a little. When I pull away all I say is, "Don't worry, I got this." I turn away from him and take the stairs two at a time before walking into the kitchen with a smile on my face. I walk pass Finn, taking the bottle of water he had just gotten for himself out of his hand, and right over to Katie.
The twin's have an absolutely gorgeous mom. She has their same midnight black hair, but where their eyes are green, hers are blue. Finn and Kit are 6"1, and it's obvious that they didn't get their height from their mom. Katie is very petite, I'm 5"4 and she is smaller than me. She's wearing scrubs and I remember Kit saying something about her working in a dentists office.
I extend my hand to her and introduce myself, "Hi. I'm Ellie, I'm a friend of the twins."
Katie seems to be in complete and total shock. She stares at me while holding a stack of plates in her hands until Finn makes a coughing noise from across the room, causing her to sit the dishes down and shake my hand, "I'm Katie. The twin's mother."
Kit walks into the kitchen just then and comes to stand beside me. His mom looks at him and then back to me before smiling a wide smile that reminds me of Kit's smile in so many ways.
"So, is this the hot new girl?" She raises a brow at her son.
I laugh as Kit puts his face in his hands and Finn comes sprinting around the table to high five his mom. It's pretty clear that Finn got his personality from her. The twin's grandmother is quietly laughing from her seat at the table as her eyes are on Kit.
"You think I'm hot?" I elbow Kit in his side, giving him a teasing smile when he moves his hand from his eyes and looks down at me.
"I did not say that. That was Finn." He points to his brother, who seems to be amused by this entire encounter.
"So you disagree?" I place a hand on my heart and take a step away from him.
"No! I just...I'm not the one that called you that." He's flustered as everyone else in the room bursts out into another round of laughter.
"Okay, Okay, everyone sit down." Katie moves around Finn, picking up the plates that she had placed on the table moments ago and starts to set them on the table before going to retrieve one extra.
