The Heist

Andrew had read that the best way to get rid of a cursed book was to burn it, so he rerouted back to his house. While there, he rummaged around in his cupboards until he found a lighter. He packed it in a gym bag and headed out towards Kate's house. As he walked, he played out his plan in his head. He would ask Kate to borrow the book for a while, then he would run outside and burn it, if everything went as planned. That's why he decided to ride his bike today.

Once at Kate's house he parked his bike and rang the doorbell. Kate's mom answered the door.

"I'd like to speak to Kate," Andrew explained. Kate's mom called Kate downstairs.

"Hi," Kate greeted. "What are you here for?"

"The book," Andrew answered.

"Andrew, is something wrong?" Kate asked.

"No, everything is fine," Andrew said way too quickly. He realized he had blown it.

"No, I don't think everything's alright, Andrew," Kate said. He then noticed she was carrying the book. In a drastic attempt, Andrew grabbed Kate's arm with one hand and grabbed the book with the other hand. Kate screamed, which her mother came barreling out of the other room.

"Let go of her!" Kate's mother screamed. Andrew grabbed the book with both hands, Kate holding on tightly. Kate's mother pushed Andrew off Kate, Luckily Andrew had ripped the book out of Kate's hands. Andrew scrambled up off the ground and sprinted towards his bike, Kate following closely behind him. He threw the book into his bag and took off on his bike.

The Chase

Kate was enraged, everything she had worked for had been taken from her hands. of course she would not let him get away. She Grabbed her bike and pedaled after him. Andrew was a good 3 minutes in front of her. She sped down the hill to catch up to him. "Shit," she said out loud. Andrew had sped up when looking behind him. It wouldn't matter, she was a few meters behind him.

"Andrew, give it back!" Kate yelled.

"Why the Fuck should I?" he yelled back, "You lied to me, I caking trusted you!" Andrew picked up his speed by pedaling harder.

"I didn't lie to you, they lied to you!" Kate screamed back. "Whoever told you that!"

"Lily didn't lie!" Andrew yelled.

Andrew hit a hill which slowed him down, which resulted in Kate rear-ending him. Andrew flew off his bike at 40 kilometers an hour. He landed on the asphalt, scraping a lot of skin off his body.
He came to a stop 5 meters away from Kate. Kate got off her bike.

"Lily told you?" Kate asked. She was a bit confused. The people who had been trying to reclaim the book would do anything. But this seemed too easy.

"What did she tell you?" Kate asked. Andrew was in a lot of pain, she could use that to her advantage.

"You want to save your father with it, it needs souls. I'm going to burn it," Andrew said. Andrew had told the truth, not some lie the government would have told him. He miraculously got up and started limping away.

"Cake you!" Kate screamed, pushing Andrew to the ground. He cried out in pain. He then kicked her in the shin.

"Shit," Kate said. Andrew got up and started limping up the hill a little faster. He took a lighter out of his bag with The Book.

"NO," Kate screamed, "you're not taking everything away from me!"

Andrew made it to where his bike was and got on it. He started to pedal up the hill.
