Today I'll start different, before the text. From yesterday to today. many people did not survive, got sick pretty much, lost hope and dreams, got frustrated with friends or family. And they do not know the God we know. You may have heard of Psalm 23, but their understanding did not open. The Word says that he who seeks God finds him.
We live among people who do not want to find God, and often do not believe that He exists. And we know him, we talk to him, we have had incredible experiences of a transformation of life and strength in the joy that he gives us, even in the midst of adversity.
Today's text is simple and well-known: Psalm 23: 1
"The Lord is my shepherd and I shall lack nothing"
How many have read, have you heard this simple phrase?
Have we set the Lord as a shepherd? What if he is our shepherd, and we have had comfort, shelter in adversity, strength, refuge, happiness, because we do not tell others the good news of the gospel? Have the Lord really been our shepherd? Because He is only when we allow. God does not force anyone to love him. He is pleased to let us make that decision. But when we take it, He becomes our Savior.
David, who wrote this Psalm, had an easy life. In the midst of many wars, betrayals and unpleasant situations. He was king of a nation, he overcame Goliath many years before ruling, he was a man who had many faults, like all of us, but on the other hand he had a contrite, humble heart before God. He recognized that he was dependent on the grace of God. Of the mercy that is renewed every morning. What he did in fearing God is an example to us.
You know, we're here today, yesterday is past and tomorrow ... tomorrow will always be. Let us make Jesus our Shepherd today. And let us show those around us the difference of having a true Friend Shepherd, who is God. The singer Fernandinho has a praise in which he quotes a sentence at the end: Let's change the world! "And we can change the world, yes. We are the Church of the Lord Jesus, we can show what it is to be light amidst the corruption that spreads in our generation. We are different, we are a people who have a mind and a pure heart before God, who has Jesus in our hearts and the Holy Spirit to guide us at every step. Where the light enters, the darkness does not prevail, they can not stay.
I speak to you and say to myself: Let's make a difference! Regardless of what you are going to say, let us do what is right, even if it is not the easiest option.
May we have an excellent day in the presence of God!
