It was seven o'clock when Christian’s alarm clock pulled him out of his sleep. He had a big day that day and could not afford to dawdle in bed. He therefore arose and walked directly to his office which was located in the front of his room. A newspaper was placed on the table near the door; it was the newspaper of the day and you could see on the front page a picture representing a man and whose title indicated that he was leading the polls to become Senator. What irritated Christian the most was that the man in the picture was not his son, who also competed for this post, but his most serious opponent and who, moreover, had the same name as himself: Christian. Other than the newspaper, several magazines laid on the table including one in particular that had on its cover a beautiful young woman who was returning from a party and who looked completely drunk. This young woman was none other than Sara Ross, Christian’s daughter.
He was flipping the pages of the magazine when his wife burst into his office, also with a copy of the newspaper in her hand.
“Have you seen this, he still lagging in the polls? Now he has eight to catch up on this famous Washington!”
“Hello to you, Patricia” replied her husband in a sarcastic tone. In response she gave him a scornful look.
“You take it to more fun while our son is losing elections?”
“No honey, I’m just welcoming the woman I love and who has shared my life for thirty long years...”
“Thirty-one long years” Patricia corrected him and who looked more and more annoyed.
“Not before two months...” Her husband told her, smiling, but seeing that it was only annoying her more he added more seriously:
“Look, Ben doesn’t want my help, alright. He refused that I finance his campaign and he even doesn’t come any more at home. In my opinion this Christian Washington scares him more than he admits and...”
“And that's why you have to show him that you support him! Even Jack is more involved in his election than you!”
“Really?” Christian asked, surprised
“Yes, he wants to stop going to college and enter the office of his dear big brother he admires so much.”
Patricia took place on one of the chairs that were there and pinched the bridge of her nose, exceeded.
“And Sara, what do we do about her?” Her husband asked her, showing her the picture of their daughter on the cover of the magazine he had in his hands.
“She just got dumped by her current boyfriend, one of Pete Doherty’s musicians…”
“Who?”
“An English rocker for minettes...Well I go now, I'm going to see Ben, since I am the only one interested in his career.”

Isabelle was waiting for her boss in his office and could not make her legs stop shaking. Her boss had sent her a note saying that he wanted to see her as soon as possible and that it was very important. She then immediately was taken in panic and had rushed in the office of her boss but he was out. So she was waiting, impatient, and her stomach knotted. When suddenly the door opened, she jumped.
“Hemmerson. What an enchanting vision!” Her boss said. She just smiled him back, although her smile was a little uptight.
“Hemmerson,” her boss repeated sitting at his desk, facing her. “you know why you’re here?”
