"Your halls of residence will be in block 3 and here are your keys." A lady behind the desk smiled.
After waiting in line for over an hour at the front desk I finally received the keys to my room for the next 3 years. I smiled back and headed back out towards the car park. It was starting to get busier now as the afternoon crept in. I looked down at my dads watch checking the time surprised to see that it was already 3 O'clock. Where did the day go.
Just as I looked up to open the glass door it swung forward knocking me on my ass once again for the day. My head started to throb so i used the cold red bull can as a cold compression. "Oh my god I am so sorry." a deep voice said.
Bodies towered over me and I looked up to see who the culprit was. An ashy blond hair'd boy stood over me guilt washing all over his face. He extended his hand which I gratefully took and pushed my hair back. "Are you okay?" the boy smiled inspecting my head. "I'll survive." I smiled back. "That was a bad hit." another voice said. I turned around realising we had company.
"I don't even take knocks that bad on the field, tough one you are." I smiled again unsure of what to say and tried to hold in the tears of pain. "well thank you both for your concern, I should get going now." I stepped around them both rushing through the door as someone was coming in. "Not you again." he growled stepping aside to let me pass. The blonde guy from earlier ran through the doors handing me my phone. "Erm.. you dropped this." I took the phone from his hand putting it in my pocket.
"Wait you two know each other." Mr steal yo parking space spoke up. "Thanks again." I turned to the blonde and then walked towards my car.
I followed the instructions to my dorm on the small map the lady from the reception gave me and parked in the bay allocated to my room number. I took two suitcases from the boot of my car leaving behind a few unimportant bags. Choosing my dorm was not an easy choice for me to make as I wanted to stay somewhere nice but didn't quite have enough for it. So River being the great big brother he is helped pay the extra. I guess those late nights have been paying off. First he helps to pay for my room and then gifts me my car. Dragging my suitcase up the small stairs to the entrance I buzzed my room hoping someone had already arrived to help me. After a few minutes the line cracked and a voice spoke on the other end. "Hi you must be 2/3 of my new roomie come in and take the elevator to the third floor." The door made a buzzing noise and I pulled it open stepping inside. Instantly being cooled down due to the A/C.
The halls I am staying in are new builds so everything smelled fresh and looked modern. I walked towards the elevator pulling my suitcases along and pushed floor 3. looking at myself in the mirror I realised how disgusting I looked. The door opened and I stepped out onto the carpet. The door at the furthest end of the hall opened and a girl with with Caramel skin came running down the hallway in her socks. She had Big curly hair with light blonde highlights and light brown eyes.
"Hey, I'm Layla." She smiled pulling me in for a hug. "Duranni." I responded pulling my cases out of the elevator. "let me help you with that." she grabbed one of my cases and dragged it along to our room. Layla held open our grey door with a number 27 on it in silver letters. I walked through and was amazed by how beautiful our room was. As soon as I entered the room the kitchen was on the left with a mini breakfast bar. Straight ahead is our living area and then there's a hallway which leads to each of our rooms. "my room is the one straight ahead so you can choose which one you would like." I pushed open the door on the right. "I'll take this one." We pulled the suitcases into the room and then both collapsed on the bed.
"This day has been so exhausting and we still have to unpack." Layla sighed sitting up. "I forgot about that part." The buzzer rang again and Layla got up tying her hair into a high ponytail. "lucky number 3 must be here." I opened up my small bag putting on my slippers and looked around the room. The wardrobe was a good size and we all has en suite's so we wouldn't have to share. I tied my hair up in a loose bun and walked towards the door. Another girl entered behind Layla with pale skin and fiery red hair.
"Hi, I'm Demi." she waved. "Durrani." I replied waving back. She wheeled her cases into her room and then came back into the kitchen a bottle of Tequila in one hand and shot glasses in another. This is where it gets messy. "so girls whats the plan for tonight?" Demi questioned pouring the drinks.
"Well I heard from a friend some of the frat boys are holding a party this evening." She exclaimed wriggling her eyebrows. "sounds fun count me in." Layla smiled grabbing her glass. "Me to." I grinned. Layla raised her shot glass standing on top of the counter. "To the start of our beautiful new friendship." We all cheered and downed our shots."
After half unpacking and some girly bonding time over instant noodles we decided to start getting ready for the party. I grabbed my portable speaker from my bag and plugged it into the living room turning it up on full blast.
"Glam time girls." Demi shouted from her room.
