All my life I've been in love with this amazing girl. She's like my equal. No one gets me like she does. We've practically been together all our lives. I think we started dating when we were like 10?

And since then, I knew that I was set for life. And that someday I will marry this girl.

And today, I was staring at this Harry Winston box with that sparkling rock of infinity that would mark the beginning of our happy ending.

I looked at that ring and I was like damned! I can't believe we finally made it to this chapter of our lives.

After tonight of course. After I pop the question. But of course all that is just a part of formality, Rachelle and I were destined to be together from the very beginning and I see no other ending for our story other than this.

"Dash?"

my heart skipped a beat nang marining ko ang boses nya. Humarap ako at nakita syang papalapit sa candle light dinner na naka-set up sa amin sa gitna ng isang lake kung saan kame madalas na mamasyal habang sabay na nangangarap sa araw na ito at sa future namen. And I can't believe this day has finally came. After tonight, she will be mine officially and forever.

"Rachelle" nakangiti ko syang sinalubong habang tinititigan kung paano lumiwanag sa bawat hakbang nya ang lahat ng madaanan nya with the background music of an orchrestra playing her favorite piece from the first play na sabay naming pinanuod. She looked perfectly stunning and sophisticated in her royal blue dress and her beautiful face.

Ito na talaga. The perfect moment. The perfect timing. And of course...

The perfect girl.

Hindi ko na talaga napigilan. Hindi na ako makapag-hintay. The minute na nakarating sya sa spot na malapit sa akin, I knelt down on one knee.

"D-Dash??? W-Whaaaat??" nagpigil ako ng tawa sa reaction nya. I've actually done this before, but syempre yung hindi pa talaga ganun kaseryoso pero noon pa man alam naman nya na dito ang hantong namen. But I never fail to get her everytime at tuwang tuwa lang ako sa priceless expression nya pag lumuluhod ako sa harapan nya. Except this time, it's for real Rachelle. I'm finally really asking the question.

Ngumiti ako after kong macompose ang sarili ko sa pagpipigil sa pagka-amuse sa reaction nya. Then I let out a deep sigh. Kahit alam ko naman na formality lang ang lahat ay nakaka-kaba pa rin pala.

Kinuha ko ang box na tinititigan ko kanina at inilahad ito sa kanya. Agad na nanlaki ang mata nya at napatakip ang dalawa nyang kamay sa bibig nyang naka-buka. At nagpatuloy ako habang dama ang kaba sa dibdib ko at ang saya knowing na andito na kame sa chapter na ito.

"Rachelle Julianna Briones, will you marry me?" mahinahon kong nasambit sa kabila ng kaba na nararamdaman ng aking dibdib at nakita ko ang lalong panginginig ng mga kamay ni Rachelle habang inaabot nya ang box at napa-takip syang muli ng isa nyang kamay sa bibig nya.

Natatawa talaga ko sa reaction nya na parang gulat na gulat pa sya gayung alam naman nya na dito rin hahantong ang lahat. Kilala nya ko, she knows I have plans, goals and of course kasama sya dun. I know I'm a very busy man and I seem to be the type na hindi mo aakalaing magsesettle down because I am after all the most eligible bachelor of my generation.

But I'm not interested with being that bachelor that most people see me as, I'm only interested with keeping my family legacy in tact and protecting the people I love. I have my priorities and responsibility. And most importantly, I want to provide security for the girl I love at siya yun. At eto na yun, nang malaman kong ipapadala ako ni Dad pabalik sa Pilipinas for bussiness reasons I knew hindi ako pwedeng umalis na hindi ko muna sya ina-assure kaya heto at ginagawa ko na. I want to make her feel kung gaano ko sya kamahal at gaano ako ka-sigurado sa pagmamahal kong iyon.

That I want to spend the rest of my life with her, like I already have with most of it.

Naka-ngiti pa rin ako sa kanya habang naka-luhod at iniintay ang sigurado nyang "Yes" nang biglang ibalik nya ang kahon sa mga kamay ko. Napa-kunot ang noo ko sa ginawa nya. At matapos iyon ay nakita ko ang pag-babago ng reaksyon nya mula sa pagka-shock patungo sa isang malungkot at guilty na itsura. Hindi ko alam kung bakit at anong nangyayari but it's never been in my nature na mag-panic. I remained composed and calm like I was trained to be my whole life. Kahit na sa loob-loob ko ay kinakabahan ako sa ginawa nya.

"D-Dash I... I'm sorry" aniya at biglang lumandas sa mga mata nya ang mga luha at mabilis akong tinalikuran upang tumakbo papalayo.

Naiwan ako dun na naka-tayo at halos hindi makapaniwala sa nangyari.

Did she just turned down my proposal?

Napa-buntong hininga lang ako ng malalim after nyang umalis. Hindi ako naiyak, hindi ako nag-wala, hindi ako nagalit at hindi rin ako natinag.

Isa lang ang naramdaman ko sa kabila ng mahinahon at kalmado kong reaksyon sa mga pangyayari.

I was hurt.

At sa sobrang sakit ay parang halos hindi ko maramdaman. It was a numbing pain. I thought we were at that Chapter of our relationship, of our life together.

But as it turns out, we were not on the same page.

Paano na ngayon ito? I was not prepared for this. Wala ito sa plano. Hindi ito kasama sa mga dapat na mangyari. Wala akong Plan B dahil sigurado ako sa kahihinantnan ng story naming dalawa.

But she left me. And it damn hurts!

What now?

Let go?

Move on?

But how?

Kaya ko ba?

Will I ever get over her?

It's so hard. That I think I can't do it on my own.

I think I need help.

"Hey wait! I need your help" tawag ko sa kanya.

"with what?" napa-taas sya ng kilay sa sinabi ko.

"Help me...

move on?"

"You mean like, be your rebound?"

A/N:

The story will be told from the lead female character's POV na makikilala nyo in the coming chapters but I chose to write the introduction from the lead male's POV so that you guys will know where he's coming from!
