Morning light seeped through the curtains and I opened my eyes. All outside was peaceful; nature was completely oblivious to the problem at hand, Stiles. Birds chirped in a nearby tree. I got off the bed and slid open the window, the warm heat coming in. I quickly combed my fingers through my morning hair and pushed myself out the window and onto the roof.
The roof wasn't that far off the ground...hopefully. I watched enough action-packed movies and read enough novels to know how to jump off roofs... right? Maybe? I pushed doubt back to its corner and closed my eyes before jumping off, tucking my legs under me and curling into a ball.
I hit the ground with a soft thump, rolling and got up, unharmed. Wow, cool, this shape-shifting thing comes with its benefits. Cool reflexes, I thought.
Brushing off the leaves and grass from my sweatpants and hoodie. There was a crunching sound from behind me and I whipped around, my nails and fangs coming out. A low growl came from my throat.
"Well, well, well. Scott has been busy," someone said.
Four people stood in a semi-circle in front of me. One a man with grey hair carrying a crossbow, another looking quite bored, and two with their fangs out. Your now-yellow eyes scanned them. All four men. Maybe I could take them, or maybe I couldn't.
"Who is this?" one of the men with fangs asked.
"No idea," the other fanged one replied.
The last one sighed still looking bored, "She's harmless."
He walked up to me and I growled, making him take a step back with a hey chill gesture. The door opened and Scott came out. He grinned and jogged towards the group, reaching the grey-haired man first.
"Mr. Argent. Your back. Thank you all for coming," he said.
"We're happy to be here. To help Stiles," Mr. Argent nodded.
Slowly, I came out of crouching position, fangs and nails sliding back in. They were here for Stiles. Scott knew them.
"Who's this?" the one with honey-coloured hair asked.
"Isaac, this is Patty. I'll explain all about her. Let's get inside the house," Scott was still grinning.
"Who are these two?" I asked, pointing at the other two.
"Derek," he introduced the younger of the two and then pointed at the older, "and Peter Hale. Peter is Derek's uncle."
"You have a lot of explaining to do, Scott," Peter patted his shoulder and walked towards the house.
Isaac, Derek, and Mr. Argent followed in suit with me and Scott. I stopped where Peter stood, frowning and looking around as if looking for something, at the house doorway.
"I expected a 'Welcome Back, Peter' sign up somewhere. I should do that next time."
You sat next to Scott in the living room, with Isaac and the rest opposite of you. Everyone was sitting almost on the edges of their seats, wanting to hear what the other had to say and fill in. The only one who wasn't in that way was Peter Hale. He leaned back comfortably as if he had all the time in the world and was incredibly bored.
No one said a word and you decided to do it for them, "Mr. Argent-"
"Call me Chris," he said.
"Chris, why are all the creatures-that Scott had fought before- coming back? Do you have any theories. I know it isn't in my place to know, but I would like to." you asked.
"We don't know yet but I'm willing to find out," he replied.
"I have a theory," Isaac added, "Maybe something is drawing them to Beacon Hills."
Peter slapped the back of Isaac's head lightly, "You idiot, they were dead before. How does something here draw the dead out?"
Scott leaned forward and I could see the gears in his head already working, "Maybe they do bring the dead out. We just have to find out what is bringing them back to life and here."
"But that's not the problem now," you murmured, "Stiles is. What should we do about him?"
"Tell his dad," Scott responded, "The Sheriff. We're going down to the station."
Beige brown coloured the walls of the station. People were walking around and sitting down at desks. A small enclosed room took over a portion of the area and you presumed that that was the Sheriff's office. Scott walked right up to the door and knocked it before going in with you following behind and Derek and the rest near you.
