Chapter 4
Gianna's POV
Jasper got my wrist fixed up and bandaged. It didn't hurt, but it will leave a nasty little scar. That girl Diana had claws like a lion.
As quick as Jasper came, he soon left once I said thank you.
I honestly didn't know what to do afterwards so I made my way over to a table. My mind wandered to various places, like what was Cami doing? Or was that ice cream in the fridge still good? And the one I mentally slapped myself for thinking was I hope to dear lord that Nathan didn't order strippers.
My train of thoughts was broken when a figure stepped in front of me, blocking my view and causing a shadow to cast down.
"Can I help you?" I said lazily not looking up.
The stranger didn't reply and instead he grabbed a stool from another table and dragged it to mine.
As he got closer I could make his face out better. None the less it was exactly the person I least expected to join my pity party. Wesley Reyes.
"What's a pretty lady like you being all alone at a party like this?"
"Do you need something? Seriously." I said rolling my eyes.
"You're a little ray of sunshine." He pointed at me poking the tip of my nose.
"Well excuse me. I just got scratched by the demon queen, and my brothers that I haven't seen in three years are no where to be found. I can be a little pissy right now."
"I know what can cheer you up."
Wesley stood up, holding his hand out.
"I-I'm not much of a danc- Ah!"
I didn't finish my sentence because Wesley grabbed me and whipped me onto the dance floor.
His hands creeped around to my waist and a flare of panic surrounded me.
Dark memories seeped into my vision. Frantically I blinked them away. I gasped and pushed Wesley away.
"What the hell was that for?"
I stepped back, bumping into someone.
"I- sorry. I'm sorry."
I shook my head and dashed away. To where? I didn't know I just needed a quick breather.
I could hear Wesley's faint voice yelling after me, but as I got farther and farther away they lessened.
And then I hit something hard. And by something hard my brother Nathan's back.
"Hey G!" He saw my face, eyes wide from fear. " Gianna what's wrong?"
I shook my head, tears started flowing down my cheeks and I grunted wiping them away. I was so pathetic.
"Hey guys give me a second." Nate said to his friends. He pulled me into a corner and hugged me tightly.
"It's okay. Gia, it's okay." He whispered. "You still having those flashbacks?"
I was closer to Nathan than I was to Matthew. Don't get me wrong, I love them both. But Nate and I have more of a sibling bond than Matt and I.
Matthew was a wild kid, he put himself out there. Quarterback of the high school football team. How cliché right?
Nathan was more reserved and quiet. He preferred music as a release to reality. That's why he became a singer.
Nathan was the only person that knew my deepest secret. Not even Camila. I know that's a little weird, but I couldn't bring myself to ever tell her because she had a rough childhood.
"Do you want to go home?"
He asked me, once I calmed down.
"No, I- think I'm fine." He looked at me, giving me that Are-you-sure-because-that-panic-attack-that-just-happened-begs-to-differ kind of look.
"I'm fine." I reassured him.
We sat down at a table close to the stage, listening to the music.
And then the weirdest thing happened. The music came to a stop, replaced by the Djs voice.
"All right ladies and gentlemen sorry to interrupt we are going to switch things up with a little song sung by yours truely, Wesley Reyes."
