Crystal drops fell from your eyes, catching onto your cheeks. Your hands shook as the clutches your knee where red liquid had begun to bubble up from a deep gash in your skin. Dirt surround the area and while it didn't quite sting, the sight of blood oozing from your knee was a terrifying sight.

Your new bike sat several feet away in the dirt, now scratched and dirty. You could hear your parents scolding you now. You began to do it for them, silently demanding an answer as to why you had decided to go down such a steep hill? You knew you weren't supposed to! What were you thinking! And now look at your brand new bike!

You looked again and a small sob escaped you as your lower lip trembled. Any second you were going to let loose and cry like a baby.

"Are you okay?" You looked up from your spot in the dirt to see a blurry girl your age, maybe a couple months older than you. She might have already turned 8. You were always so much younger than everyone!

You squinted your eyes to get a better look, instantly regretting it as more tears spilled from them. However this cleared your vision and the blurry girl came into focus. Her brown hair was tied into two braids, much like a doll you had once owned before your dumb baby brother tore her head off. She wore a pair of pink sparkly glasses and you found yourself jealous. Your mom had never let you have glasses. She said you didn't need them.

"I fell." You're voice came out more aggressive than you had intended but your knee was starting to sting and the last thing you wanted was for another kid to see you like this. You became painfully aware of the dirt caking your time sore palms and the large muddy stains on you brand new hello kitty shirt. Your mom was going to be so mad.

You caught a glimpse of a pretty purple bike not too far away, parked haphazardly on the curb.

"Ew you're bleeding!" The girl gasped and walked closer, pointing at your wound. Her eyes were wide as if both disgusted and intrigued by it.

"Yeah...." The two of you studied the wound for a moment together, debating on if you had lost too much blood.

"Here!" In an instant the girl was up and racing towards the purple bike you had seen before. You watched her reach inside the bedazzled basket then rush back over with a small bag decorated with flowers and glitter.

Silently you watched as she dug in the bag for a moment, pulling out stickers and bubble gum. Finally her fingers emerged with a small pink bandage decorated with little Hello kitties.

You watched her for a moment, wondering if the bandage would don't over your gaping wound.

"Okay hold still!" She peeled back the protective layer of the bandage, her sparkle painted fingers moving slowly and carefully. Then, as if by magic, there was no longer a bloody mess on your knee. It was replaced with a pretty pink bandage with a face that matched the kitty on your shirt.

"Woah! Hello Kitty!" The band aid much have restored your health because suddenly, you were able to walk again! "She's my favorite!"

"Mine too!" The girl with the braids grinned and pointed to a pair of white cats on the toes of her pretty pink shoes.

"Cool!" You grinned. "I'm (Y/N)."

"I'm Molly! Wanna be best friends?"

Your eyes flew open and for a brief moment, you thought maybe everything had been a dream. A really awful dream. But when you sat up you saw everything again.

The basement.

The chains,

The dirt.
